I booked a DCL trip for August 3 through Dreams Unlimited without airfare since I've always done better booking my flight separately. Right now the cheapest flight is Jet Blue for $390! I searched the cruise on the DCL site and when I added airfare it was another $450 per person so that's not the way to go. How long should I wait out the fares before I risk not getting a flight?

I do not know where you are in NJ, but SW to MCO out of Long island has had fares of 89 EW and out of PHL tey have been 100 EW.

SW has $99 or $100 fares available every day in August (PHL-MCO) Those fares wind up costing around $250. Are you looking to fly in the morning of your cruise? $309 for a perfect flight time may be reasonable.

You have to decide if you're looking for a good fare OR are looking for the perfect flight times.

If you list your airports and exact dates people may be able to give you better advice. I think you either need to be more flexible or be willing to pay.

I don't know where you are in NJ. I am in PA and always check ABE (Allentown), PHL, and EWR. I go with the best prices. Anyway, I have found that ABE has good priced flights on Allegiant and AirTran. I see right now Allegiant has alot of $59 flights for August. Airtran has been pretty reasonable too. Worth a try..... I hope this helps. Good Luck! :)

I would also try flying out of Philly. I would definitely not fly same day as your cruise. All it takes is t storms in the NE to foul up your plans and miss the ship. Also luggage delays could force you to sail with no luggage. Been there!:sad2: :headache:

You can get a cheap hotel in the MCO area on Hotwire and we often get the Hyatt right inside MCO for around $50 + tax. If you're taking DCL bus transfers to PC, you can leave your DCL-tagged luggage right in your hotel room and they'll deliver them to the ship and right to your stateroom. So nice. :cloud9: If you go that route, be sure to register at the hotel that your with DCL and they'll handle everything. ps. this service only at the Hyatt MCO, not other surrounding MCO hotels.
