When should I order my DDE Card

I want to get a DDE card for our Christmas trip which starts on 14th December. I would like it to be valid when we go back in August 2007 so when would be the best time to order it bearing in mind the length of time it takes to arrive.

I would order it as close to the December date as possible. Having said that, I think the end of October, beginning of November would allow ample time for processing and shipping. This way you'll have a Nov. or Dec. '07 expiration, and possibly be able to use it for an "unplanned" trip between Aug '07 and whenever the expiration date is? Good luck.

I'm fairly certain that if you order it on (or after) November 6, 2006, the DDE wouldn't expire until December 31, 2007.

When I called, I told the CM that there was a possibility that I might plan a trip for March/April 2007, so she told me to wait until March 6th to order mine because at that point it wouldn't expire until April 30, 2007.

If you call them, they are not the least bit shy about telling you when you should order it! Last year I wanted to order mine early for our December trip. But they strongly encouraged me to wait until early November so that it would be good until Dec 2006 (when we will be returning). I was concerned about it arriving in time, but it did with no problem. I'm glad I decided to take their advice!

If you order the card and it doesn't arrive before your trip, you can get a temp card to use while you are there.

You could order 1 week prior to your trip and you would be okay, as long as you have time to go to EPCOT Guest Relations (outside the turnstiles, next to the gift shop to the FAR right side), to pick up a temporary card prior to your first meal. When I ordered mine, I was told I could pick up my temp card the next day if I needed. Otherwise, I would give yourself about three weeks to be on the safe side, depending on the demand at the time you call!

We are going june 22 and she told me to call and order may 8th and it would be good through june 07.

Yes, but that was exactly what I was trying to avoid. Why have a temp card when we are actually there, and a nice permanent card for the rest of the year, when we are not? And (the last I heard) you have to go to Epcot main entrance guest relations to pick it up, which may not be convenient if you didn't plan to go to Epcot on your first (or second) day.

Fortunately the card arrived in plenty of time, so if you order a month in advance I don't think you'll need to be concerned with this.

I totally understand your point. I had just wanted to mention that a temp card is a possibility if you need the extra month expiration. I hope my permanent card arrives before we leave, but as long as I get the 20% off when I'm eating, it can be a temp card. I'll just use the "real" thing in October. Oh, and it is rather convenient for me because I'm staying over at the BWV.

So, if I order my card August 6th or 7th, will it arrive in Indiana before September 2nd? And, will it then not expire until September 30, 2007? If so, that's what I'll do. Do you know what the number is and if they're open 7 days a week? Thanks.

I called on Feb. 4th and they told me to wait until Feb. 6th so then it would expire on March 31, 2007 instead of Feb. 28th. That is what I did and I received the card in the mail 3 weeks later. They are only open Mon. - Fri. and the phone# is 407-566-5858.

I believe Mon - Fri - 9:00am - 5:00pm - Eastern time... when I needed to order mine, I had trouble to remember to call at the right time - I usually call them early or later....
