When should I buy DDE card???

I know this has been answered many times but I did a search and came up empty.

I bought an AP and have the voucher. Our arrival date is 11/26/07. When should I call for the DDE card. I understand that that is effective from the date of issue and that it must be purchased prior to arrival, but does is have to be in your hands at arrival or can you pick it up at resort.

Thanks for any help. It's getting close and I'm thinking I better do it now.

I would call in October. Usually after the first or second week in the month when the process and issue the card you get an exp date for the following month. We are going in the first week of Dec, I ordered my DDE card Oct 8th, we will have a Nov exp date and sitll have plenty of time to get the card before we go. Clal ahead a month or so and ask when the dates change over for expiration. I had tried to order in Sept and wonderful CM told me the exact date to callback and get the Nov expiration so we could use it as much as possible.

You should call immediately.
They will very likely tell you to pick up your card at Epcot Guest Relations at the main gate.
Everyone, if you call the DDE number, they will tell you when you should call back, without even being asked. If you want your card sooner, you will have to insist on it.

I ordered mine on Oct. 5 (to get Nov 06 expiration) and they arrived yesterday. Perfect timing as we leave Thursday.
