My mind always go's blank and I send them the wrong way or give them very vague answer.
A few examples this week, I was walking to pick my dd from school and a American standing outside a hotel asks me if there anywhere to get any lunch, so I say "yes if you go straight down there." did not tell him how far he had to walk or advice him to cross the road at the lights as there is a busy junction on the side he was on further down.
The next day I was walking my dd to school and a man gets out of his car and me do I know where an Airport car park is, I do and he is only a few minutes away so I give him directions and when I walk away I realise I have sent him the wrong way! hopefully he saw one of the buses and followed it.
Later in the day I was at university and a new student asked me where a room was, I think about it and reply "I don't know, some where in that building there" I actually had three lectures in this room last year! I did not realise until she had gone, duh!
