I've read a number of posts where special things were done for anniversaries and birthdays. Some words of advice: don't go expecting this. Dh and I spent our anniversary at AKL last fall. Dh mentioned that it would be our anniversary when he made the reservation. Upon check-in, the CM wished us a happy anniversary. We were upgraded from a standard view to a savana room, but we were told this was because no kings were available as we had requested. Each evening at dinner, the CMs also wished us a happy anniversary. We appreciated this attention very much, and had a wonderful long weekend. However, we did not receive any special gifts, towel animals, etc. in our room. On a more positive note: when I made my PS' for our May trip, I noted that we would be celebrating 3 birthdays during our stay. The CM helping me said to call my resort (AKL again) 1-2 weeks before our arrival, and the staff would leave balloons, an autographed photo, etc. for the kids. This would thrill them, so I'll give it a try. We did not do this with our anniversary. To sum up my advice: Don't go expecting any extra attention, and you may end up pleasantly surprised.
