When making character meal reservations....

HUH? Maybe I am missing something but I am trying to help if I can. You purchased a Disney Character meal? Through who? Is this something you can do through the Disneyland website or does it come in a package of some sort through AAA or Costco? I always book things seperatly to keep it oranized and I never book directly through Disney so I wouldnt know.

I always thought you had to pay when you get to the meal. I have never heard of a time without Characters.

I would try calling Disney Dining and see what they have to say. Heres the number for ya

goofys kitchen is just open as a charater meal breakfast and dinner
storytellers has character breakfast , buffet or menu and regular dining for lunch and dinner
same for Lilo and stich at PP
The princess dining at CA is always character all 3 meals

If you've already paid for the meal you do not have to tell them beforehand. You will get vouchers that you use to pay, when you pay depends on where you eat. At GK you pay first, at AG you pay after. You can use those vouchers at any of the character dining restaurants but you can also eat at those restaurants without the vouchers. Does that help?

We always buy our meals in advance through Costco travel... then you call and make your PS through Disney Dining... no need to tell them its already paid for! Then when you get your big package in the mail before your trip, in it will be your pre-paid breakfast/dinner coupons--that you take with you when you go to the restaraunt.

They don't care if you pre-paid for it, but yes, they would want to know it's a character meal you want, if you're booking Storyteller's or PCH Grill. For example if you called and were a bit confused and booked at 7pm at PCH Grill, when you got there you would be mighty disappointed that it was just a restaurant at that point and that your vouchers wouldn't work.

So I would definitely mention that you want the character meal, so that if you were confused about timing they could help you right then and there, but disney dining isn't even onsite, and they don't care how you're going to pay.

ok, I bought a character meal through getawaytoday. I called and made reservations at goofy's kitchen for a monday evening. Is goofy's open for regular meals... or just character meals? Do I need to call back and specify? Thanks all

I'm not sure with other places but our travel company gave us tickets that we had to trade in at the front desk for our disneyland tickets and for goofys dinner... we went at our time and they said to go get the tickets from the front desk... so arrive a few minutes eairly just in case because we had some problems doing this! And its a good idea to call for priority seating becuase if its around dinner time it will be busy and you don't want to have to wait!

Goofy's isn't always with characters, there are times when no characters are there. I don't know when but I know others have posted about it.....you should ask when making your reservations. Be clear that you are looking for character interaction.

All the meals at Goofy's are character meals as bonita_babe mentioned. They serve 2 meals there per day: brunch and dinner. Some people have had experiences of having less characters than others, but there are always characters there.
