When making ADRs

If you don't get what you want, how frequently do you call back to check for cancellations?

I was wondering the same thing. I have ressies for much later than we usually eat. I made the ressies 60 days out. Nuts. Its gotten busy.

It depends on how bad I want the ADR!!! Also depends on why I'm changing it.

I've been making all of ours at 180 days out (insane) the last few trips, but if I want to change one and it's not available, I'd say probably once a week or so. This year, we're going the Thursday before Thanksgiving until the Saturday after, and I fully expect to be stuck with the ADRs I make at 180 days out.

If I really want the ADR, I'll call back every couple of weeks.

I desperately wanted LeCellier for anytime during our FD stay. I called 1-3 times everyday until I got it. I actually only got lunch but I just don't want to do the calling anymore. I may call a couple more times to see if I can get dinner at some point.
