So... what do you all wear when it rains? Or when it MIGHT rain? Do you pack jackets? Ponchos? Or do you wait and buy Disney Ponchos? Are they ridiculously expensive? Thanks for the input! Kind of a weird question, but hey...inquiring minds wanna know! :rolleyes1

The rain ponchos are about $6-7 each. As for what we do- depends on how prepared we are that day, how hard its raining, etc. We werent not very prepared last time. I didnt take a coat with me, as my plan was to buy a new one while we were there. We packed coats for the kids, but didnt take them to the park the day it rained (clear sunny morning)- so we bought coats and rain ponchos.

This trip is going to be a little better. I bought 10 cheap (75cent) walmart rain ponchos. We can wear and toss them if we dont want to carry them We have coats, and will bring them daily to the park. We know it going to rain this time!

when are you going? Its supposed to rain one or 2 days next week when we are there...I still have my Disney poncho and you bet Im wearing it lol :thumbsup2

We were there when it rained and bought ponchos to use. They covered your body more than jackets and worked better, although we did have a problem with them tearing. Also, our feet is what got the most wet. Make sure you bring extra comfortable shoes on your trip so you don't have to walk around in wet shoes the next day. :sad2:

Leaving tomorrow night after work. We'll be there Fri- Sunday this weekend

We always buy the cheap disposable ponchos at Target/Walmart/Walgreens or a Dollar store. They are very small and easy to toss in our bag, not in the way if we don't use them. We like them better than the heavy Disney ones... they are much easier to store and use again later in the day if we need to.
Hope you miss the rain... but if not have a great time any way!

I wore my waterproof windbreaker jacket when it rains. It rained one of the days we were there last. Alot of people had ponchos, some even had their umbrellas.

I wore a plain lined cloth jacket last week. I didn't get soaked to the skin, but I did get wet (and loved every minute of it; day 142 without rain here in Phoenix). It was never really a driving rain or a cloud burst, but more of a steady drizzle. So, it depends on how much rain. I probably would have broken down for a poncho if it rained harder. The kids are made of sugar and had to break out the umbrellas, but otherwise we pretty much ignored the rain. :confused3

Be sure to pick up your feet as you walk around. Kick a puddle = shoe full of water.

Be sure to put shoes out to dry afterwards (take out the insoles too if possible), or perhaps throw 'em in a dryer. My kids didn't do this and they were still damp two days later (had a day off from the parks in between). Ended up having to dry 'em under one of the vents in our van that pumps out a lot of heat on the way to CA.

...it's a great time to go to the parks because thye are empty!

We were there on a Sunday and there was light drizzle and there was hardly anyone there, as all the locals stay away.

I wouldn't go if it was heavy rain, but a bit of light rain clears the parks, amnd still leaves most rides open with no queues - just take a poncho or light jacket, and if the weather clears put them in a locker.

The only drawback is that the rain also caused the fireworks and parade to be cancelled.

I actually wore a pair of Tevas when I was there in the rain last month, and it's probably not the best idea, but it worked reasonably well (as long as it's not too cold.) The one tip I can give is that if you hear a parade is being replaced by "Mickey's Rainy Day Cavalcade", don't bother waiting for it.
