When is your schools mid-winter break?....

Our schools are out Feb 21-March 1 for mid-winter break. When is yours? I'm trying to plan our next trip and I don't want to go when school is out! We usually go in the first week of May, but if Disney is offering this rumored promotion, I'll take advantage and go in Feb/Mar for the $200 gift card!

I'm in NW OH and our district doesn't do a mid-winter break. We just get our Spring Break over the Easter holiday.

Our kids have two days off for Mardi Gras, (Feb 24-25 2009), but do not have a full Fall or Midwinter break.

I believe many Louisiana schools, and some FL and MS schools also have Mardi Gras off, but have no idea if this affects WDW like President's Day does.

We also don't have a winter break. I had never heard of one until the internet and then others would talk about it!

Texas has spring break the week of March 16. Most colleges and school have breaks in Feb, Mar and April. So if you want to avoid all that chaos, choose the end of april or May. We went this year from 4/27 to 5/2 and it was not very crowded.

No mid-winter break here.

The kids get Christmas off, & then 3 days off at Easter...that's it.

In NYC, the schools are closed

Wed 12/24 through Friday 1/2, returning Monday 1/5 for winter break.

Monday 2/16 through 2/20 for mid-winter break.

Then again Thursday 4/9 through 4/17 for Easter/Passover break.

And people wonder why our school year doesn't end until June 26th.

A lot of public schools in New Jersey are on the same or a very similar schedule.

I'm also thinking of doing Disney for midwinter recess than at Easter break this year.

How is it during that time of year (weather, crowds, etc).

I've never heard of mid-winter break. And only a few MS schools near New Orleans have a Mardi Gras break. We get spring break in Mid March.

We don't have one. We get MK day, and then nothing until "spring break"...we get Good Friday and the Monday after Easter and that's it.

Our winter break is probably the same as yours. I don't have a 2009 calendar close by but it is the week that begins with President's Day. Then we have another week off in April. We went to WDW for our April vacation this calendar year and it was wonderful!
