When is Veterans Day Holidays for schools?

Trying to figure out if we could go early November and not have the crowds from the holiday of schools.

My Daughter has Monday the 10th and Tuesday the 11th off. (In the Seattle area). We will be there during that long weekend. Hope the crowds aren't too bad!

Yes, that's us too here in the East Bay (NorCal). We were thinking of maybe going that weekend as well...we'll see

I'm pretty sure ALL school's that get veterans day off....get veterans day off. Not any of the days around it. Just veterans day.

I don't think any school has the entire week out of school...unless they're on the track system and have that month off. But we've always gotten that Monday and Tuesday off in our school district....not just Veteran's Day.

We're also in the SF Bay Area (North Bay) and around here they get both Monday and Tuesday off.

We are in Northern CA around Sacramento and only get the actual Day off Tues.

I'm going during that week and had the same concerns about crowds, so I did a little investigating. I checked the calendars for a lot of the Southern California schools districts. About half of them just have Tuesday off, and about half of them have both Monday and Tuesday off. While I know that it's not just Southern California school holidays that will affect crowds, I figured it was a decent snapshot of school holidays in general for Veteran's day.

Happily, we are going to be there all that week, so we are going to plan around what will probably be the busiest days!

Thank you all for the help and info. I think if dates for the hotel and airfare rates is good for this time we will be maybe arriving the 11th evening and then staying 5 or 6 nights.

I was also wondering how the crowds will be at this time because I am going down there Nov. 10-14 for my birthday. We will go to the parks the 11-13th. I'm thinking the parks will be busy for that weekend up to Tuesday, and hopefully the crowds won't be too bad on Wed. and Thurs.
I live in the Bay area and the schools around here will be off Monday and Tuesday.

Around us kids do not get any sort of break for Vet. Day ~ I however get the day off paid!

We are in South Bay Cupertino and they get the 10th and 11th off.

The 10th (monday) is a NON DUTY DAY and the 11th is Veterans day.

We are in Ventura County... We only get the 11th off and not the 10th.. : ( so no three day weekend this year....
