Hi all-
we are going in mid January but park reservations have not opened. When i tried to buy tickets and associate a date, our dates weren’t pickable but did fall within the range (ie if we picked a start date for the tickets or say January 4th. Does it matter if we buy those or should we just wait until we can select our exact/precise dates AND book park reservations?

thanks!!

You can just buy the tickets now, and then get reservations when the days open up. I always use 3rd party vendors for the discounts, and it doesn’t matter if the reservations are up yet. Recent contenders for best discounts are UT (the frog one, it gets asterisked out if you type it on this forum) and aRes travel for $20 or so bucks off a 3-day park hoppers, for example. They send you the ticket barcode within a day (sometimes within an hour) so you can link it to your account and go right to the gate.

If you're going to buy this far out, I'd suggest aRes travel with the Travel Refund Protection Plan (because, COVID). For a flat $25 (not per ticket), you get full refundability if for any reason your vacation plans change. I know the value of unused tickets never expires, but since you have to go to the ticket booths to make any changes (from a three to four day hopper, from a child to adult ticket) and then re-reserve your days and hope they are available, it seems like a cheap insurance policy.
