When is tiering going away?

If it IS going away, nobody knows WHEN.

And, with the Dwarf's Mine Train opening soon, looks like MK might even have to ADD it.

I keep reading this but don't know that I get why. They have the most headliners of all the parks and I would have thought that the new attraction would give more capacity because there are more FP's being released into the pool. What am I missing?

I think it's because almost everyone will want to ride the new ride, unlike all of the other rides in MK which are more dispersed. So in order for everyone to get one ride let's say within a week's vacation, they might have to tier it with something else that is popular (Anna and Elsa maybe?) But all just speculation. Let's hope not!

Thanks, that does make sense. Often I have to switch gears in my brain between Disney Logic and Regular Logic, so I tend to over think things like this at times. I also hope not. I guess if they pair it with one other attraction and don't make you pick one from all the headliners it's something we could work with, but as you say, here's hoping not!

I doubt you'll see it go away in advance. If everyone could book Soarin and Test Track, there would not be enough to go around and people who book closer would have neither as an option. If rumors of additional "day of" fastpasses come true, you may get to book the other.

Unfortunately no one knows. It's probably going to be a sudden change for a trial period and then if there is a permanent change we'll see it after that.

I am REALLY not a fan of this system. In the "old world" as long as I could get to the FP kiosks timely, I could get whatever fast passes I wanted.

Seriously right ?

Try to explain the Tiers :) Tiers = tears ???

When we went to pick our FP+ out last month it wasn't pretty. They were so disappointed.

Miami's looking better and better in May.

If there is a "day of FP+" do I have to wait in line for it?

For the most part, I like the new FP+. I am even ok with the 3-a-day limit - not LOVING it, but OK with it. (I'd like to see at least 4-a-day at MK.) I absolutely despise the tiering and really hope they do away with it... SOON!

Careful... you're starting to sound like a "hater." ;)

This is it.

I don't mind the limit of 3 per day - in fact any more than that and the whole day would be entirely overscheduled (with the current reservation system, that is).

But trying to make sure the kids (small) have their vacation while DH and I still get to do thinks on our vacation (because it's ours too!) is difficult under tiering...

If either of your kids don't make the height requirement for some of the bigger rides, you can use rider switch and basically double your FP+ selections and get around tiering. That is what we are doing on our trip and many others have done as well.

I don't mind the three FP+ limit for advance booking, but once you are in the park, you should have the option to schedule another FP so long as it does not conflict with an existing one.

Say I schedule a Soaring FP+ for noon. If I still decide I want to do RD, I should be able to schedule a TT FP as soon as I enter the park as long as it is not at noon. From there, the old rules could apply. I cannot schedule another one until the window opens up or two hours have passed. This would benefit those who like to sleep in and those who like to get there early.

The only other change I would make is to allow 4 or 5 scheduled FP+ in advance at MK. There are so many more rides to spread out the masses, and if I can ride more rides quicker then my time is freed up to spend my money elsewhere in the park.

:scared: I laughed out loud! :rotfl: (as a personal side note...) It's funny, though, because if people actually read my recent review, they'd see I'm pretty honest about my thoughts and feelings - not blinded by mud or sparkles. I just want people to have the opportunity to make informed decisions based on facts, both good AND bad - not solely on speculation. That's all. Thanks for the chuckle! :goodvibes

Silly question, but you know you're not restricted to 3 rides total? The stand by line is still there. I used to use a lot of FP-, now I use my FP+ in the afternoon / evening mixed up with stand by & focus on the headliners on rope drop. Even with FP- I used a lot of standby lines.

There is no line for day of FP+. If they do add to your total I would assume you will be able to add via the app (for ap holders and onsite guests) and at the kiosks for day guests.

Someone recently posted screen shots of a survey they received asking for feedback on several possible change scenarios. If I remember correctly, not one of the proposed questions or scenarios even mentioned elimination of tiering.

I'd take that with a grain of salt though because it is a pretty useless thing to survey. Whether you are a FP+ hater or supporter, I don't think there is a single person that likes tiering. I doubt they would waste time and resources taking a survey on something they already know the answer too.
