When is the WDW Marathon ran?

Hello fellow Dis'ers! I want to take my trip to Disney World this year in Janurary instead of August. My question is, when is the WDW Marathon ran? Is it really crowded during the week of the Marathon? Would it be better to go after, or does it matter? I'm tired of going when it's hot and crowded. So I would love any tips you could give me. Thanks in advance.

We go during Marathon time.
It has been the first Sunday of January. In 2003, it's the second Sunday.
We don't notice any crowds, other than right before and after the race near the start/finish lines.
Otherwise, the parks are dead.
