When is the soonest I can book vacation?

Just bought AKV on 9/12, will close on 10/12. We are in the network on the website. Our use month is Dec and I understand that we cannot book our home resort until May, 2009. We have a trip planned (airfare purchased) for January, 2009. My question is, are our points available for us to book a villa or hotel room at an alternate location for our January trip? Or are our points not available for use at all until May? Sorry if this is a newbie question. Thank you in advance for any replies.

We just bought, too. Your Developer Points are available for January. Your '08 Points cannot be used until after May 1, 2009.

If you are in the database, you should be able to book into other resorts now for your January trip. Call Member Services.

No, they bought AKV they can't use those points at any resorts until May 2009 and if they have developer points they can use those at SSR only.

I believe they can also be used at the Disneyland hotels.

They can, I used them to book a trip in June 09 in DL, but the OP has airline tickets for Florida that is why I stated only SSR.

We bought on 9/25 and will close 10/25. We called MS 6 days after we bought and we were already in the system and booked our trip to SSR for Jan.12-18. They also gave us our pin # so we can access the DVC member website.
