When is the next Unnofficial Guide to Walt Disney World released?

Amazon says Aug. 21 and Buy says Aug. 1, and other sites I've checked simply say August. I've looked on the publisher's website and couldn't even find a record of the books! I need to know if it is ok to order online at the reduced price, or pay full price at a local store so I know I have it on time.

Is there a website for those books? I couldn't find anything.

Thanks!

The official website of the unofficial guide (lol) is touringplans.com. It is full of updates between issues. I go there at least once a week for updates.
If you like the unofficial guide then you might want to hear Len Testa (one of the co-authors) on a Disney Podcast- WDWtoday. You can find it on itunes or their website directly wdwtoday.com. I too am looking forward to the next edition!
:cool1:

Thanks to both of you! I suspect that buy.com is the incorrect one. :(

I'll check out the podcast too. I haven't read the book so I can't say I am a fan yet, lol. I realized when I was book shopping that they were all about to go out of date, so I bought the Passporter and decided to wait on the Unnofficial Guide. I also have TGM, and am contemplating touringplans.com. My dh thinks I am overplanning!?! :confused3

Wow RockyMtnMaria - you have more books than me!! You overplanner you!!! :teeth: Actually I am getting the Unofficial Guide this year. My first trip I borrowed some books ... got some used books ... etc... but wanted some of my own that were new since I am already planning a trip for NEXT year (and I still have a short one this year yet!). I think for the 2007 trip I am going to try TGM too. I've read good things about him -- I keep looking at his smiling face on this board every day!!!

I think I am getting The Imagineering Field Guide to Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World shortly too. Not a planning guide but sounds interesting! I did not like the trivia books. I like to read trivia ... not just look at questions and go to the back of the book for answers -- that's what the one I got was like.

Anyway, didn't mean to hijack this thread! Have a great time planning - I LOVE PLANNING and have a great trip too! :sunny:

Oh, SnwflkCts, I didn't even mention the Birnbaum Guide for Kids or the Hidden Mickeys books for my boys, lol!

It is nice to be in the company of other overplanners, lol. It makes me feel normal.

And, yes! TGM is wonderful! This will be our second time using him, and his claims are accurate. We were there last fall during an extremely busy week and never waited over 10 minutes in line (except for the Lion King show, and he tells you it is worth it). I also like that it isn't a set in stone plan that you, but more teaches you HOW to tour affectively. He only gives specific schedules for the first hour or two in the park, and tells you the best times of day for others.

I LOVE the Unofficial Guides!! I have the 2006 version and have read it twice since I booked our trip in April (yes, I'm obsessed!) I also have Fodor's as well which is my second fav. The other one I bought is the Birnbaum's "Official" guide which I liked b/c of the color pictures...since it's an offical guide there is obviously nothing negative in it though. My fiance thinks I am obsessed too but luckily doesn't comment on it much

I LOVE the Unofficial Guide too! My stepdad gave me the 2006 copy after he was finished with it and I have read it several times!! It will be great for our WDW trip in August. :) :)
