When is the earliest you start really planning for your trip?

Unfortunately I didn't get the ok from my wife for a September trip til a few days after free dining was announced. Guess what. No dining where she wants to go available. And now it's MY FAULT!!! We've talked about it for a year and a half. She thought dining reservations were 60 days out, not 180. She wanted to take the little one to Cinderellas Royal table. LOL. With a group of 11, we're pretty much out of luck to the point I don't even want to go.

On Wives:
-resistance is futile.

-the (proverbial) beating (from said wife) will continue until morale improves.

-our lives would be an absolute mess without them.

Hi, yes here in the UK we're able to book up to December 2017. Sorry that I didn't specify in my opthat I was from the UK, I never even thought :sad2:

I did it all online as the offer is valid until june/july I believe to book.

I hope the US site gives out similar offers soon :thumbsup2

Do you know which resort you're going to stay at and the dates you have in mind?
Okay, that makes sense now! No worries! I'm kind of a newbie so I didn't think about you having different dates available. But if they are offering free dining to UK guests Maybe they'll be offering it to us too eventually! I live on the west coast of the US so I've never been to WDW, so I'm super excited. I hope we can stay at New Orleans French Quarter. It will suit all needs. Going probably November 12 - 18. Where are you staying?

Started planning for a July-August, 2018 trip with DS and family. Just things like what we want to do, etc. I know things are going to change before we get serious about planning but I like to get a early start.

Aww you'll love it! NOFQ was one of the hotels that we looked at as it's beautiful but we decided on Coronado Springs as it was a little cheaper. I think most people are hoping that the US prices will be released soon, fingers crossed.
I'm sure you'll have an amazing trip x

I'm leaving Tuesday and am just sitting down now to weed through our ADRs and make final plans. Unfortunately it was difficult to do with the unknowns at AK

The resorts all look beautiful so I think we'll be in good shape no matter where we end up!

We're already booked for Sept 17 (UK free dining represent!!), so around 12 or so months beforehand. 11 months out we book the airfare, then it's a waiting game until park hours and crowd calenders are released for planning park days.

We are going in August 2019, and I am already planning it. :) Yes, I wish we could go sooner, but we can't (due to finances and being pregnant). My goal is to take our two kids when they are 5 and almost 3, during a week in August I would have off from work. It's fun to plan, and I've already been researching hotels, flights, car rentals, ticket packages, planned what parks/attractions/restaurants to go to, etc.

I think that's awesome. Sometimes I find the longer the wait, the more grateful you are when the trip comes :).

we are planning on a trip September 2017, when is the earliest I can really start planning it out? When do you guys start planning your trips?
Easy answer. It is always right before we leave Disney, we seem to have the next trip booked..

I plan hotel 9-11 months (DVC). one or two priority ADR's about 40 days (something like Hoop Dee Doo as soon as I can). Initial Fast Pass about 40 days. Of the ADR's, there is usually only 1 I care about (the tier 1).

I don't plan past 1 rides per park (I have 3, but I don't care about the others) and a few ADR's a trip. Everything else is winged.

I pack about 20 minutes before I leave the house.
Often I pack after I leave the house. :-) (pick up toiletries at the hotel and buy a shirt or two at Disney since I didn't bring enough and when can you not use more Disney shirts???)

We're DVC members and generally begin with room booking at 11mos out if at our home resort. 7mos out if not our home resort. Then ADRs at 180 days, then FP+ at 60 days.

The frustration recently has been how closely I feel like I need to keep watching things that are ever-changing... all the way up until we leave for the trip. That has been more annoying than beginning planning 11mos out!!
