When is the best time to leave disneyland to get to vegas?

We will be leaving DL on Friday may 31 to travel to Vegas what time should we leave DL to avoid the major traffic? We can leave at anytime but don't like traveling in the dark. And we have never driven out west.

Driving to Vegas on a Friday night is a nightmare. This is the heaviest travel day on the 15 north, with Sunday return the second busiest. Save yourself a major headache and leave by noon!

if it is a typical friday than anytime after 1ish could add a half hour or so. take the carpool lane if you can. typically it is around a 5 hour drive with a stop to eat. and that time includes us having a 9 month old. i live in vegas and go to disneyland like every 6 weeks and have driven early, late and everything in between. leaving anaheim is much different than leaving los angeles

if possible try and map it with traffic like on google as soon as to when you are leaving. there are a couple stretches that are two lanes only and an accident can set you back hours. ive actually stayed longer at disneyland because accidents were adding 3-4 hour delays.

if you leave after 2:30 or so you should be close to vegas around dusk or it might be a little dark, but it is pretty cool to drive in to the city when dark and seeing all of the hotels lit up
