Just thinking ahead for 2008 and wondering what the best time to go would be say from early Jan through April??? We would like to go at the slowest time possible (if that is even possible at Disney!) so any tips on timeframs would be very welcomed and appreciated. :goodvibes

P.S. We heard that MLK week/weekend in Jan. is one of the worst times, and we would also like to avoid spring break since it will probably be a mob scene during March.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

MLK weekend is busy for January, but it is nowhere near as busy as Easter Week, President's Day Week, or most of March.

January (after the first weekend) through the first two weeks of February will have the smallest crowds in youir timeframe.

I agree with Bob above. However, I will say that "slow" times of year are getting harder and harder to come by.

It seems there is always something going on; cheerleading competitions, dance competitions and other high school sports related activities. When they're all over, spring break arrives!

The meaning of slow is all relative. What I find crowded, someone else won't and vice versa.

We love going the last week of January/first week of February. It is nice and cool, not crowded, and typically you can get discounted rates on rooms.

Ditto here...we like this time of year, too. Crowds are not, or at least have not been so far, very bad, and the weather is agreeable also.

I've gone twice in early February: in 2005 (10th to 14th) and 2007 (6th to 13th) and in my opinion, it is the best time to go! It's the very end of value season so rates are low. Even with a cheerleading competition going on during our most recent visit, the crowds were not bad at all. The longest wait we ever had for a ride was about 20 minutes or so, although we did fastpass rides with long waits (like a 70 minute wait for Soarin!) or skip rides with long lines (like 40 minutes for Test Track on an EMH night). We didn't book the trips till January (2005) and November (2007) and were still able to get most of the ADRs we wanted at the times we wanted and even made some day-of ADRs.

We went the first of Feb. this year and we usually go the first of May. The parks were not crowded and the weather was nice that last Saturday we were there was a little crowded but nothing compared to other times of the year. I would go in Feb. or after Easter to miss all the spring Break crowds and Easter crowds.

Easter is March 23rd, so avoid the week before and week after. Prez week is pretty crazy too. Other than that I have found the first week of Feb to be pretty good, but cold. I would recommend the last week of April, my favorite time to go.
