OK, this probably has been answered like a hundred times before, but maybe we can add another time? :rotfl: How many days out does WDTC UK start sending out the paperwork for your trip? Heck; what do they even send out? Never booked through WDTC UK before, so just wondering. I know about no longer the DME tags. I know it's nothing particularly 'special' they ship and you can do without if need be. But still it's fun hearing that knock on the door.

Also, for those of us infected with the shopping virus; what are the experiences with buying another/new suitcase in Orlando? Since I'll be flying business, I'm entitled to 3 suitcases, totalling 96 kilos.:woohoo::rolleyes1 I'll be taking along 2 suitcases on the way to MCO already. Mom also has hers, but only is entitled to 23 kg one bag. We're planning on doing some major shopping. For ourselves, but also a couple of loved ones I've told "OK, you get a max. of 5/10 kg. So if you want anything that it's at any of the stores I hit; sent me a shopping list and money". Aren't I nice? :lmao:

I don't really want to drag along a third empty suitcase on the flight to MCO. If we do end up needing that third suitcase, we'll buy one at Orlando. What are your experiences with doing this? Any good tips with regards to price, quality etc.?

I know there's a Samsonite outlet in either Prime or Premium, but it's not sure if we'll hit one of them. We hope to hit either, but could be taken off the plan. Walmart and Florida Mall WILL be hit.

We got our letter about 2 weeks ago, so 3 weeks before we fly! :)
As for luggage, I have just started packing, and have put my sons' suitcase in another so we have extra on the way back! :thumbsup2
If you would prefer to buy a new one, then it's over to 2Tiggies... she is the expert!:worship:

Jealous of your luggage limit!

We've bought suitcases from samsonite at the outlets in the past. Bright green hence heavily discounted but coming with us again this time.

Documents should be sent 2 weeks prior by post according to recent threads on here. Pack includes the freebies like $15 planet hollywood voucher and 1 free round of minigolf.

Oh, you must be counting down the hours by now?

Good to know it'll be another week and a half or so before I can expect a knock. No need to hunt the man down yet. Let him enjoy some last peace and quite. :rolleyes1

Know of that trick :thumbsup2 Aint gonna work for us. We've all got the same cases, because we love that certain type and all are the same size.

I'm still impressed when I start realising it's almost 100 kilos. We are SO going to use it to shop till dropping and not having to worry about whatever weight we are at. :lovestruc

Ah, sounds familiar. Remember those from the US packages.

Oh hello! :rotfl::rotfl: I am not an expert in this field. I just happened to post my report of a very successful shopping trip to Premium Outlets where I could not physically carry the contents of the 5 shopping baskets lined up at the cashier, along with the shoes and clothing from other stores. It resulted in a quick sprint to the nearest luggage shop, which may have been Samsonite to buy a suitcase to pack my purchases into and pull them along with me. :lmao:

If you are looking to buy luggage there, then I found it to work out slightly cheaper than buying like for like over hear. The current economy will reduce savings a bit, but I still think you will be better off. However if you are simply looking for an extra case for the return flight and you have one to spare, it is possibly easier to just pack one inside another on the outbound. I am packing my things into the smaller case, which will then be placed in a large one and taking a pull along, large duffel bag as my second case when we fly out. I doubt we will need any more. I have such a collection of cases now from shopping trips going right :rolleyes1 that I don't really want to be buying any more if I can help it. I don't know if this is much help to you though. :goodvibes

Stories are travelling fast, haven't you heard? ;) Especially those that are a-tad-outside-the-norm like this one. :rotfl2:

Don't tell anybody, don't want to get kicked off but aint from the UK. I'm Dutch. Haven't got the slighest idea of the prices in the UK, but will do some homework on amazonUK.

Nop, nothing to spare. We've bought some new already for this upcoming trip. Normally my parents go on a trip or I do, but not all at the same time. This time mom and I do USA and dad does Asia. So all suitcases will be used already. That's why I don't want to have to go out, buy a new one here, lug it over and not be sure IF we need it. I can stuff amazing amounts into the suitcases we've got, they're huge. With the 32 kg max. we'll get a long way already. It's a question whether we'll need that 3rd one, so we'll buy one if we find we need it.

See, you've done this too often allready. :rotfl2: I'm still basically almost virgin on this department. :littleangel::eek: Always need to take 2 suitcases on the way down anyway because of med supplies (free of charge on outbound :thumbsup2), so have always managed with that amount as it's always been my allowed max. But then again, I was reluctant on going on a major buy-attack, watching weight and size of things we bought etc. Mom had the same experience back in 2008. We totalled about 60 kgs between the 2 of us "watch it!!!! No shopping malls either"- strategy.

Let's do some math. Mom has got an allowance of 23; leaves us with 37 left. That's suitcase one full. Suitcase 2 has 5 kgs in it. Hmm only 27 kgs for extra shopping. Sounds like I'm not too foolish to be aware of the risk of needing that 3rd bag. :rolleyes1

DSIL was over yesterday, and she offered me a big nylon type Nike holdall she bought one trip. It folds down to virtually nothing, no weight and can be packed tight! Only prob is it then has to be carried, as no wheels! She said they are about $10-$15 dollars from Nike outlet. May be worth cobsidering??

So is all my dad's side of the family, so you fit in perfectly. :goodvibes

This was going to be my next suggestion. From a weight, size and cost perspective it is a good alternative to a full suitcase. As per my previous post, I am using one too this year. However I will do one with wheels and pull handle. You just need to check measuremets including the frame when you go to buy because unlike a soft bag without the wheels, these can't be reduced in length to place inside another suitcase so it still needs a few inches leeway to get is in without putting strain on the frame. I noticed  that I buy a fair amount of clothing. Things that can be squished a bit like clothes can easily go into the holdall. You can pick them up quite cheaply here if you look around. I have spotted a nice one for £15 which will just fit inside my big suitcase.

Hmm. That's the advice I needed about a month ago when I picked up a really nice wheelie holdall on sale for £20. 'Bargain!' I thought!
This morning I went to put it in one of the suitcases, and guess what? I doesn't fit!!:scared1:

Ha, don't be too quick to think I was clever on this one. The only reason I offer this advice now is that I made the same mistake 3 weeks ago with a smaller suitcase. It was much smaller but the plastic bits on the inside of the large one and the frame from the smaller one meant I couldnt pack one inside the other. So it was all the way back with the one I had bought to change it for the next size down. Saved me a whole £3 getting the smaller one and cost me at least £20 worth of my time trying to 'make it fit' the night before. Not a good deal at all :lmao:

 Sorry, shouldn't laugh really! I can't take the holdall back, it's over the month. Luckily DS's case fits in one of the cases, and I have another holdall to go in the other case :thumbsup2 We're planning to take 3 pieces out and bring 5 back! (one each), plus our carry on (which is 18kg) Hopefully will be enough if DD curbs her shoe/boot fettish! :rotfl2:

Oh don't worry, I had a good laugh at myself, even at the time. The whole thing was so silly a was giggling like a school girl.

As for your DD, don't hold your breath about the shoe/boot fettish. I'm 30-blah and still have one! ;) Of course you could take luggage scales and tell her to keep aside some of her money for excess luggage

Yeh, but she doesn't quite grasp that concept!! She is more a 'my moneys mine, your moneys mine' kind of girl :) As she keeps reminding me, 'a kid is for life....':rotfl2: Trouble is she says it in such a way, I try to be serious, but end up laughing!:confused3

Oh no! I wonder if my DD is going to try that on me too. At age 6, being instructed to get ready for bed she looked at me earnestly and said: "But Mum, it's not bed time for 10 more minutes. That's now way to treat a child at Christmas" :rotfl2: She was also no help at the Character Outlet store with all my shopping. She told the sales assistants in a very matter of fact manner, "Oh my mum will sort it out. She does this kind of thing all the time!" :rolleyes1

Thanks for the tip! :thumbsup2 However, we don't "do" any carrying. I am physically unable and moms back will have her out for weeks if she does carry any luggage. One of the main factors we all got suitcases with 4 360 degrees spinner wheels. :worship: We're OK with getting a suitcase extra if need be. I mean; shopping. Oh well.
