So, I just got back from my disneymoon; 4 days parks, 4 day cruise. Now I have 3 scrapbooks to create. NOt only do I think I am going to be overwhelmed once the purchases have been made, but I;m pretty sure this will be 4 books instead.

My question is; I went to disney world 2 years (for 7 days) for the first time and made a 2 book scrapbook because I had so much, now I have 2 books for this 4 day trip... but we did do a few rides that we didnt do last year and a lot of character dinners. When is too much too much? I dont want to spend too much ( but I will ) - should I trim down or just suck it up and realize I will always make huge books regardless

I need advice from pro-disney go-ers and scrapers. thank you

You can buy page protectors that fit 12 x 12 books, that hold 6 4 x 6 photos. I've gotten some at Hobby Lobby when they were 50% off, and I'm not sure who makes them.

But that might be something to consider. The new or special stuff, you could scrap, but some of the stuff you could just put in the photo pages. It would let you to put the album together quickly, and then if you wanted to replace the photo pages with layouts, you could do that too. You could even take some of the pockets and fill them with a journal block. So it's kind of a hybrid album.

I tend to set my limits by how many pages are in the book. So for my Disney 12x12 scrapbook, I had 40 pages to work with, and knew I wouldn't be scraping everything that happened. Having only 40 pages made me pare down, which was good for me.

When we go again in January, we will have many more new experiences. I will just scrap about that in the 20 page Mickey scrapbook I have waiting.

I'm not scraper, although I think they are pretty cool and admire the amount of work that goes into them. Any chance you would consider doing a digital scrapbook with some of your pictures. They are really easy to do and it might end up saving you some money. Just a thought.

You don't have to scrapbook every single picture you took. I try to go through my pictures and only pick special ones or ones that I really want to remember. On a trip I can easily take over 800 pictures. I usually only end up scraping about 100. Scrapbooking should be a fun process - not something that overwhelms.

You do NOT have to scrap every photo! I do as Hopemax suggested - Scrap the "title page" and "chapter headings" with journalling, and stick the rest in 6 up album pages behind the chapter headings. I call it "blended" scrapping - thanks for letting me show it off *Again*, lol. Blended Album

I agree, no need to scrap every photo. Try just picking out a few highlights to scrap on 20 pages for one book (or two), and put the rest in a regular photo album. The scrapbook will capture the flavor and your feelings about it, and you can also flip thru the photo album for a quick overview of other photos.

Well, I'm not sure if I'm the right person to answer this but I don't think there is a such thing as TOO MUCH lol

Let's see I go to Disney for 10-12 days each year and right now I'm at 169 pages for 1 trip and I'm not done yet. I'm not scrapping every photo either LOL

I can tell you I did do the Disney Cruise twice and each time I got 1 book out of it. 28 pages out of the 2006 trip and 36 pages for the 2007 trip.

What I do is I don't print every photo.
I copy all my trip photos in to 1 album then I separate them by park then by event or ride. I then go through them and only print out the best photos.

Some people scrap by day but I can scrap by events or rides. I don't mind mixing 2 days on splash mountain on the same layout. Maybe try to limit on how you scrap

I scrap what makes me happy...and if it's all the photos I take at an event, then it's all the photos.... I do highly suggest that you look at LindaBabe's Blended album... link in post #6... She utilized, like Hope said in post #2, 12 x 12 page protectors that are actually broken down into 4 x6 inserts..... they are FABULOUS!! I used them...and used a variety of different ones for our 2008 vacation.... I love them!!!!

thats the aweful part - I took around 1000 pics, and have narrowed it down to 350. I will look into hybrid, or just skimming down

thank you all very much
