When is it the slow time at WDW?

Is there a time of year when disney "WDW" is slow concerning Food and park fullness? 3 yeas ago I went during Sept and the only thing that was packed were the popular dining locations. The parks were not bad at all. Last year I went during sept most dining loactions were packed and all parks also. I understand this has to do with the promotions. But Is there a time of year now where both food and parks are dead .......?

the week after Thanksgiving or the first or second week of December. The crowds have always been far more than manageable especially during the morning hours and even during the peak times of the day, never a line longer than 15 minutes standby. I did go this past year over Mothers Day weekend. It was busier than my normal times but not at all overcrowded and I did get ADR's only 30 days out...good ones, too. I don't think there is truly a quiet time...after all WDW is one of the top world tourist destinations.

I did call for an ADR today for lunch during the week after Thanksgiving. I had my pick of times.

We went the second weekend in Feb and the first weekend in Dec. The parks and CS places were not bad at all but the TS places were pretty much ADR only.

The absolute slowest time of the year is after Thanksgiving and before Christmas. The only downside is that the parks tend to close earlier than normal.

Twice we've gone in January. The weather is unpredictable (once it was in the 50s and the other time in the 80s) but there are no crowds. We rode the "Rockin Rollercoaster" three times in a row because there was no line!

We like the second week of January. We've been lucky with the weather. High's usually in the 70's and sunny. LOVE it!

It could be 50 or it could be 80! Florida is extremely unpredictable!

We are passholders and we live close to WDW. We try to stick to week days and go between October and mid-March.

Weeks to avoid are Thanksgiving and Christmas if you want to avoid crowds. We are finding that even during the downtimes it can be difficult to get in to many of the popular restaurants. Weekdays are always a little easier!

The week after Thanksgiving and the first week of December are not the slow times anymore. Just try getting a room at the deluxe hotels during these weeks the last couple of years including 2007. The second full week in December tends to be less crowded

The slowest time of year I have found are the last week of January and the week BEFORE thanksgiving

Our first trips were in mid January before the President's Holiday at school and we could pull the kids out of elementary school. Downsides: weather can be all over the place, so you have to pack for layering; parks close super early; many rehabs going on throughout the parks; sporadic scheduling of parades, fireworks, etc. you really need to plan ahead to view everything; less of an "exciting" feel to the parks when they're pretty empty. Upsides: you can really acclimate yourself to the parks and all they offer; way less stress or running around; resorts are a real-steal, so a chance to stay anywhere; It's STILL WDW We're SO glad we could begin our Disney adventure during January. When DS and DD got to Jr. High, we began going in June/July, but we knew how/what/when to do everything, so it was cool. ASMo June 2008--our rooms are booked

Most week days. And January between NY Day and MLK weekend. After that it gradually gets busier by the weekend.

The first week of December used to be great; we've visited at that time on several occasions. But not anymore. We are traveling to WDW on a quick trip from 12/1-5 and it sounds like it will be jammed; everything is booked.

From our experiences, the "slow" (relative, I know! ) times are:
- January (except for the Martin Luther King holiday weekend)
- February - up until Presidents' Day weekend
- Most of May except for the Memorial Day weekend
- Early June
- Mid to late August; even Labor Day weekend is not that bad
- September
- October
- November, except for the Food & Wine Festival dates (local crowds,too) and the Soaps Stars weekend
- 2nd week of December until about the 20th or so
