To start calling Disney to see what my membership number is? They are getting our deed today. I know it seems to take about 2 weeks to get the number and longer to get points loaded. But I know some people have gotten their number faster by calling.

So when is the earliest someone has gotten their number?

Call if you haven't gotten it in two weeks. The member services wait times are long enough without people repeatedly calling the phone operators for information that they aren't going to give you early. You just waste both your time and theirs.

So then, not today?

What do you mean by "they are getting our deed today?" The deed is sent to the county and Disney at the same time. If you're a new member, there are multiple processes they have to perform to set up your account, link your contract and load you points. Based on what I've seen and experienced, you shouldn't start calling until 10 days after the deed is recorded with the county.

I'd say don't even bother until at least 10 days. I called at day 11 after getting the "a copy of your recorded deed has been sent to disney" email and had no luck. I then waited until the following week (day 15) and got it. Number didn't arrive in the mail for another 7 days.

We got our number in the mail exactly 3 weeks after the deed recorded message.

I meant that the title company agent said Disney should be receiving our title today. I'm just dying to find out what availability is bc we have points expiring Aug 1 and we want to go to VGC, so we don't have any other dvc choices at DL if it's already booked up.

As of today VGC have a lot of availability mid May to Aug 1st. Mid may being 7 month mark.

It takes 1-2 week in recent time, used to be 2-3 weeks. Person who does the transfer works only part time from Saturday to Tuesday. Deed will be recorded first then recorded copy of deed goes to disney for transfer, from that point on you can count the days.

Thank you! This is great information to have!

I called 10 days after I got the email saying that I closed and the deed was being recorded. I had no luck on that day. I called again on day 12 and was able to get my number, my online account set up, and making reservations. When I got my member number the points were loaded and the account was ready to go. It took another week after that before I received the member number in the mail.

We just went through the whole process as new members...called 10 days after our deed was recorded with the county and we were able to get our number, set up our account and make our first reservation all on the same call.
