I just need to vent. This is the very short verson... sad, but it is.

We are moving Wednesday. Everything that could go wrong in the last two months HAS. Thankfully no one is hurt or sick, at least immediate family. I know things could be A LOT worse but when you are dealing with everything it's hard to believe!

Let's see... a brief run down. We are moving as quick as we can. DH got the offer on May 1, 2006. We made the final decision then, we found a place to live in Florida on May 26th. I managed to transfer my job, a stroke of luck. DH current company owes him $15K. They won't give it to him unless he is with the company the day that the customer pays the invoice. He is in sales. We have been waiting since this deal closed in March. Now the invoices are in, but no one will confirm when he gets the money, only that he is. He finally was forced to give his notice last week b/c the stress of hiding that and trying to wait this invoice crap out was taking a BIG toll. That's a lot of money.... It's been one day he's getting, the next he might not...

DH's car died back in March. We were going to trade it this summer and get a new one anyone. In hindsight, bad decision #1, we bought a new car then. Have been working on DH's to get it running again, it only needs a new tension pulley. Bad news? The bolt for the old one is so tightly on NO ONE short of towing it to the shop can get it off. But it runs. Ok we will take it to car max this week before we leave to get it appraised. They did well by me when I traded my old car last year. This morning it wouldn't start. The alternator wasn't turning over b/c of the lack of belt. Car max wouldn't jump it to look at it running and offered us $250 for it. HUH????? It's worth between $2000-$3500 right now. So mad.... so now what are we going to do? Towing with us to FLorida. That's right we are taking THREE cars with us. How stupid is this??? In the long run it'll be better.. it's 2WD and we will probably be able to get more for it down there and we are out of time to fix it and trade it here. And we refuse to take $250 here. IT's a $300 repair job... Probably a series of bad decisions on our part that lead us here but now we have to deal with it.

Late May my mom paid her American Express bill with my bank account. I went negative $1600 and accrued $380 in fees for that minor mistake.

IT's one thing after another after another. I started refusing to answer the phone when DH would call from work. I just can't deal with it.

I just needed to vent. I feel better now... Thanks! :)

I would give you :grouphug: but I think you need this instead:

:drinking1

It'll all work out in the end! But I know it stinks to have all these roadblocks right now.

I am so sorry and I can so relate!! My dh is in sales too. We had the nightmare move from heck 4 years ago from Ohio to Texas. By the time we actually moved I was so numb that I don't remember May-Sept. It worked out so well for us. Just keep breathing and believing that this too shall pass and yeah have that drink!! :drinking1

We are going through a rough patch too right now.

"it's only money" and "thank god for our health" have been my mantras.

It is so hard to sleep at night with so many things to worry about running through your head.

Lets all go out and.. :drinking1 !!!!

I woke up this morning, peeking out from my sheets wondering what could happen today.

My dad's favorite saying to me is that "These are just road bumps" "They are minor and will blow over". Easy to say we you are faced with a new road bump EVERYDAY....

:grouphug: I hope your move goes smoothly from now on!

You need a DIS :grouphug: today. I hope things go smoothly from today on for you. I'll send you some pixie dust. pixiedust:

Welcome to Florida!

(((((hugs))))) before you know it, all will be sorted out and you will look back and laugh. Trust me. The last 2 years were HELL for us. Everything eventually gets better. Keep faith!!

I feel your pain.. Tie a knot at the "end of your rope" and hang on for dear life..

Hard to be optimistic when everything is falling apart all around you, but what's the alternative?

Hope things go a million times better today.. :thumbsup2

They say the two biggest causes of stress in a persons life are job loss and moving. You've kinda got a job loss situation and you're definatly moving, so you're getting a double dose!

Just keep moving forward. It will all work out eventually! Just think, next February all us northeners will be up to our knees in snow and you'll be toasty warm in sunny FL! :sunny: BTW, I saw your locations, I'm in Elgin IL, not far from both Barrington and Aurora. Hello from IL! :wave2:

We just moved cross country, and it seemed like everything went wrong for us, too.

Hope everything works out soon!

I feel your pain....

We moved last June, so I know exactly what you are going through. I will never forget our experience and the stress level was incredibly high.

Last year we closed on our old house on June 21st in the evening and a bad decision was made and it ended up being a dry close. So for the night we no longer owned our old house, but we didn't have the money from the sale of the house either. The next morning we go to close on our new house and the money that was promised to be there wasn't so we sat in the Title Co's office for 4 hours waiting for the money to arrive. The mover's were supposed to be at our house at 1pm and it was already 1pm and we still hadn't closed. We finally get through closing and it is around 2pm and rush to our new house for the movers.

Dh's grandmother had passed away and the viewing was that night. We had to find the boxes that had dh's suits in so he could be dressed properly for the viewing. I stayed at the new house late with the movers and went to the viewing late. The next morning we had to get dressed again (we are literally living out of boxes) for the funeral, but had to leave early because we flew out to Disney for 10 days.

We came home to a house of boxes and absolutely no food or anything to drink.

It was a very stressful 3 days. I get tired just reading about it again. The worst though was the money not being there for us to close on our new house. Very stressful - no money and no home!!!

Remember - this too shall pass. Breathe deep.
