We are seriously looking into a cruise next year (2006) but I wanted to know when hurricane season was so we dom't book during that time. We are looking either September '06 or October '06. TIA for the responses.

Hurricane season does go to November 30, callahanjulie10 is right. August through about mid Oct are usually the busiest months but who the heck knows anymore. We left for our trip to London followed by our cruise out of England and not only had to deal with the fact that we were there for the bombings but we had to track a hurricane already to see if we needed our friends to put away our furniture on our lanai. I thought that by taking a trip in the very beginning of July that I would be safe.

The official Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30....every year.

2:33pm: Please, don't feel intimidated by hurricane season. The ship can steer around the hurricane pattern to keep you and your family safe. The only danger is getting to or off the ship before a hurricane hits. My family was very lucky and was able to have a fantastic trip between Ivan and Jeanne Sept 19th-23rd of 2004.

OP, happy planning!
