When is First Night of MVMCP Each Year?

We are planning to go to MVMCP in 2004. Historically, is the first night of the party the Sunday after Thanksgiving or has it started later some years??

Also, if you've been at the first party date, is it a zoo because of Thanksgiving weekend crowds??

We just came back from MNSSHP and went to MK for the first Wishes show and it was crazy. Wall to wall people and strollers. The fireworks and the show were well worth it, but for the next trip, we can choose to do the first or second party date in December if that would be a lot less crowded than the end of November party.

We are trying to plan a cruise afterwards so I need to be sure of dates.

I haven't attended the first party, but I believe it is the first Sunday after Thanksgiving.

No, it is not always the first Sunday after Thanksgiving. It depends on how early Thanksgiving is each year. If Thanksgiving is early, then the first MVMCP is usually different than Sun. If it falls late in the month, then maybe it will be the Sun after Thanksgiving.

Here's what I know to help you out:

2000 dates:

Thanksgiving was the 23rd...dates were 11/30 (Thurs), 12/1, 12/4, 12/7, 12/8, 12/11, 12/14, 12/15

2001 dates:

Thanksgiving was the 22nd...dates were November 29 (Thurs), 30 and December 2, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18

2002 dates:

Thanksgiving was the 28th....dates were Dec. 1 (Sun), 3, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20

2003 dates:

Thanksgiving will be Nov 27...the dates are Nov 30 (Sun), Dec 2 (Tues), 4 (Thurs), 5 (Fri), 7 (Sun), 9 (Tues), 11 (Thurs), 12 (Fri), 14 (Sun), 16 (Tues), 18 (Thurs), 19 (Fri)
