When is DATW???

I've been all over these threads, and can't find the date for DATW. Is that still on, or have plans changed? I thought it was Saturday, but that is when the group dinner is scheduled?
Thinking about signing up for the weekend package............

Hi, Milo! It is a little confusing, isn't it. Last year the DATW (Drink Around The World) at EPCOT was led and hosted by SideshowBob.
I think this year the Official DIS-CON-II committee has decided to have the Illuminations Dessert Party on Friday this year and requests not to hold the DATW on the same night.

Since the Official Opening Reception is on Wednesday, I guess that only leaves Thursday to hold DATW. But I don't know for sure.

About six (6) days ago, MacKey Mouse requested that Barb-for-Real to start organizing the various unofficial mini-meets, like DATW; around all the Official paid events like the Illuminations event on Friday night, or the Official dinner on Saturday night, like you mentioned, or the Official Opening reception on Wednesday night.

DATW was a lot of fun last year. SideshowBob united us all at the statue in front of EPCOT's Rose and Crown Tavern by raising this stuffed, yellow thing called "...SquareBoxBob...or something like that...lol."

We all raised our beer or wine or milk or water or cola and had a friendly walk around to each country. We laughed...socialized...watched the Tapestry of Dreams parade...walked some more.

Watch out for that "Viking" beer...lol.

Watched Illuminations....went to the bathroom...walked and laughed and had a good time.

I think that we then headed over to the beautiful Swan Resort's Kimono's for Karaoke.

A lot of fun. You don't have to drink any beer. As you probably know, EPCOT is a beautiful place to walk around at night.

I hope that you can come.

You got to sign up officially...you don't want to miss the Illuminations dessert party, the Dinner at the Swan or the closing breakfast!! It is so cool to do these events with everyone all at once!! Is Mrs. Milo coming too??? I can't wait to see you and hope you make it officially!!!

I am leaving, but not until tomorrow. AND......... I will have internet access, so no talking about me behind my back! Ya' hear?!?!? I will know who's being bad!!!

To ease your troubled mings, DATW is on Thursday, followed by a rousing night at Kimono's for karoake!

Stayed tuned to the DIS-CON board, as Patrick has already said he should have the new itinerary out by tomorrow morning.

Ah...shucks. We can't do Thursday night.
Oh well, and DH was really starting to look forward to it. He was even going to make pins for everyone

shhhh....we're planning an unofficial "drink around the rooms" (DATR) for one of the nights we're there. Maybe you can work that into your schedule.

We're there from the 4-12....but some of our evenings are filled.

the 5th is MVMCP for us......but I am so looking forward to it...ahhhh, Christmas and Disney, what can be better?

I'm sure if we don't get to anything official, we will see some people around.

Oh...how about the Adventurer's Club. Is there a meet there?

We don't arrive until Thursday night 11:30PM, so we will miss DATW this year. We are still thinking about the rest of the events, as we aren't working yet, don't know if we should splurge. If there are individual events, we'll certainly pick at least one of those. We will definitely see you at some of the unofficial events.

Awww....gee, now that the Adventurer's Club meet is on the same night as DATW (Thursday the 5th)...we can't make either!!

I think we moved the Adventurer's Club mini meet to Friday (12/6) after IllumiNations.
