When is Cars Land opening at CA?

We are thinking of taking a trip to DL next year but wanted to wait until Cars Land is open. Any info is appreciated.

The Disneyland AP magazine says Summer 2012 all over it....like every.single.page.

Disney was previously saying June 2012, and now they've become much less specific. So, Summer 2012 could mean anything from work being completed ahead of schedule with soft openings in May, to delays due to bad winter weather pushing the opening to August.

I booked a trip to visit CarsLand in October, it should be open by then
I was very lucky this year and had my June trip during the official opening of Little Mermaid and Star Tours, but don't want to push my luck next year

When it opens there will be a mad dash to experience it. I would wait til after Labor Day, when the crowds will be lighter.

Just another rumor. It started at Mousewait a couple days ago.

Their information is just as good as mine if I say May 23rd or July 2nd.

The truth is nobody knows.

With the promotion tickets offered for visits between Jan 4 and May 28, I would guess that Disney does not expect that Carsland will open in May. In 2011, the promotional tickets were only good until April 14. If you tack on the 2 weeks of blackout days to the end of that period (Easter fell on April 24), by early May 2011, the Easter crowds were gone but so were the promotional tickets.

If Disney expected to open Carsland even in late May, there would be previews in May and Disney would expect to be able to sell full price tickets during the month. -- Suzanne

From my coworker who is an imagineer working on the Carthay Circle Theater right now, both BVS and Carsland are scheduled to open in May (she didn't say what date).

Does anybody have any idea when they normally announce an opening date (or at least a month)? Like for Little Mermaid, did they announce the opening date weeks or months before it opened?

We are wanting to come down and visit for 5 days starting June 3rd, but only if Carland will be open. We could push the trip back to the end of June if needed, but I am hoping Disney gets it open for the whole summer (end of May opening).

It won't be so much when there is an official announcement. It will be when information is passed on by CM's getting thier work schedules. Before the full on opening and likely media events that will go along with it, there will probably be CM previews, AP previews and general soft openings that will require the CMs to be schedules to work the land. So we will likely only get a month's notice.

Can't wait for it! We just had a Cars 2 Christmas! Lol We will be in WDW Early March and June, and want to head to DL in late fall to get to Cars Land/ World of Cars...my DS6 is soooo excited!!
