I think playing a character would be fun, especially one of the 'main five' because they get so much attention from everybody, and it would be fun to watch everybody's reactions. Especially kids.
I saw a CM in the Studios a couple years ago, just going around the "lake" with a broom and dustpan. This was in the early evening and I talked with her for a moment while I had my nasty smoke and waiting for family to finish in Prime Time. She told me that she only works 4 hours a day, (which for her was always early evenings), 5 days a week. She was a lovely woman and she told me that she and her husband had moved down when he retired. He worked in one of the shops the same hours that she did. Now that to me, would be the perfect job. I would be in my favorite place doing something that allowed me to talk with people and get paid for it!!!!!
I would love to work at DVC or at one of the resorts in Guest Services. Saying "Welcome Home" and helping guide Guests when they start their vacations would be wonderful!!![]()
I've toyed with the idea of working part-time at WDW or DLR after retiring (next year). My concern is that they'd lose their magic for me. Some years ago, I took Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour and even though tour guests were forewarned, it was a bit of a downer to see the Magic Kingdom as a place of employment where people go to work.
