When have discounts historically been announced for Disneyland?

We have been to WDW several times but this is our first trip to Disneyland. I have booked 6 nights at GC at the rack rate but I am wondering when Disneyland would normally announce a fall discount (if they even have them)? $3800 for 6 nights so I am really hoping to get a 25-30% travelling the first week of October. Anybody have any guess what my chances are of that?

A DLR hotel discount, if it happens, is more likely to be 15-20%. Have you considered buying an AP for one member of your party? The standard discount is 10%. The difference between a PH and AP, plus the 15% food and 20% merchandise discount might come out in your favor. Then if they release an AP promotion, the discount could end up being higher.

The annual pass idea is actually a pretty good idea!

We went late last oct and there was a 25% off room rate for APs which came with a free anytime fastpass for each member of your party and a free 5x7 photo print out at the photo center

Check sites like cheaptickets.com. They run specials for a percentage off. I booked PPH at 20% off last year, but saw deals for 25% after that and even saw one around Black Friday (I think) for 30% off. You do have to pay in full at time of booking but it is refundable up to so many days out.

Just got an email from cheaptickets for 25% off their best hotel deals. No idea of GCH is available, but it's worth looking.
