I’ve got all my ADR for my upcoming trip except 1…Chef Mickey’s. I think my DD (5) would love it. But what’s everyones favorite meal there? We have a lot of breakfast ADR but DD is a morning person so that’s ok. But is lunch or dinner better? Thoughts?

We've had both breakfast and dinner at Chef Mickey's- it's really a toss-up. Both are good. By the way, they don't normally serve lunch there. Once in a long while for special periods (like this past September during the free dining promotion) they do, but it's not a regular thing.

I liked the dinner there, I've never had breakfast, so I can't compare, but the characters were excellant, the service was good, and the food was pretty good too.

Your 5 year old will love it!! We really enjoyed our "brunch" there - we took one of the latest breakfast seatings, 11 I think it was. We were seated about 11:15 I think. We fed the kids a very light breakfast in the room, hit the MK at opening and did several rides with little/no wait. Then hopped the monorail over to the CR for CM's. We were on the DDP, so the "brunch" was out TS for the day, we then used CS for dinner. It was still breakfast food - good, we enjoyed it, but I think we ate more than we would have if we went early (I'm not a morning eater at all), and it worked out great with the DDP. We only saw 1 or 2 characters while eating, but as we were finishing up/handling the bill, the restaurant really emptied out. Then we got to see them all and spend a good amount of time with them!

I think both are good, although I've seen more positive reviews of breakfast on the DIS. The food at dinner is very basic, but it is fresh and plentiful. When we went in August we had a 5:10 ADR, and although the check-in line was long (they open at 5) we were seated quickly. Because the restaurant wasn't full yet, we were able to see the characters pretty quickly and most more than once. The nice thing about an early dinner, is you are not eating at peak ride times.

I've had both Breakfast and Dinner there. They are both excellent. While I prefer the B-Fast over dinner.... you can't go wrong with either. Just remember, it is a character b-fast/dinner. So it will be very noisy hectic no matter which meal.

There is always something special about Chef Mickey's.

Breakfast. I have done both but we are not a buffet family and at night when I am tired and have tired kids I like to be served and tip someone for their service. Breakfast is quick and easy.

We have had the buffet dinner at Chef Mickey's every year. We love it. The character interaction (don't want to spoil it for you, so I'm not going to say what it is) was fantastic! Your kids will love it and so will you.

We found ourselves spending a day at a park, then going back to our room to freshen up for dinner. We would get dressed (usually in matching Disney themed outfits) and head to MK or Epcot. We would take the monorail into the Contemporary for Chef Mickey's. After dinner, we'd take the monorail back to a park again.

They take a great picture of your family for you at Chef Mickey's. It's a great opportunity to make sure sure everyone looks good and to have a professional picture taken of your trip! They bring the picture to your table and offer you magnets and keychains and all sizes of the pictures. Here's a hint. I fawned over the picture. I told the CM who brought it to our table how much we liked it. I said we would just have to buy the 5x7 picture. I said I wished I could buy everything but we really had to watch our budget. Guess what? I paid for the 5x7 picture and the CM just gave us everything. They already had it printed up. I tipped the CM well!

Here's our first picture there from 2002 (it's hard to tell in the pic, but Mickey and Minnie and Donald and Goofy are driving the cars on our shirt/dresses - we bought them at the Disney Store):
