When exactly do the 14-day Ultimate Tickets expire?

I'm just wondering something. We're buying 14 day ultimate tickets. We'll be in WDW for 15 full days (not including arrival and departure days) so because we have 14 day tickets we won't do the parks on day one because I know we'll definitely want to do the parks on Day 15 - we want to go to Cocoa Beach and Universal in the middle, not at the start or the end.

But then it occured to me, what exactly do they mean when they say the tickets expire 14 days from first use? For example if we first use our tickets on Wednesday 25th October and so that's Day One, then Day Fourteen is Tuesday 7th November *but* perhaps when they say 14 days from first use they mean two weeks exactly and therefore the tickets might be valid for use on Wednesday 8th November???? Anyone know?

Sorry, I know this sounds a bit crazy. I'd love if we could do the parks on our first *and* last day (and obviously many days in between).

Where do you get 14 day tickets? A friend and her family are coming down with us in Feb. We are staying 17 days at my rental home. We can only get 10 day tickets or an annual pass that is very expensive. She will not be returning so will not need the annual pass. Any chance I can have any info on the 14 day pass? Could really use it. Also I am American does that make a difference? Deb

Deb, I'm pretty sure that thos etickets will expire on the 7th Nov.

Isla Bonita, according to Disney the tickets are only available to people living in the UK.

As Catherine says, I reckon they would expire at the end of the 7th November as they're valid for 14 days from their first day of use.

Obviously they do not suit everyone's needs but we find the Magic Your Way tickets better for us.
We bought the 10 day hopper/non expiry/plus 5 day water park option last August.
Mainly because we do not visit WDW parks every day, our tickets should last us at least 2 holidays.
I would say this year we will probably go to MK maybe on four mornings, making sure we do possibly MGM/EPCOT or maybe MK again in the evening, with 2 or 3 mornings at Typhoon Lagoon/Blizzard Beach.

I guess it depends on what sort of holiday you have, we enjoy Universal just as much and have APs.

Deb, the tickets are intended for international guests *but* I have read varying accounts from people who say U.S. residents can use them - others say they can't. Before I posted this I did a search there because I was certain I had read on Mousesavers that anyone could use the tickets but Interestingly, that info is no longer there so it's possible that Disney no longer allows non-UK/European guests to use them but I really don't know for sure. I would do a search here on the DIS if I were you (see 'search' at top of board) because I've definitely read threads from people asking if they can be used in the U.S. Hope that helps :) The other option is to get the 10 day MYW with extras so your friends would have 14 days but 4 of those would be in Disneyquest or Water Parks.

Catherine and AndRu, thanks :)

JohnnyS, thank you too :) Yes we've debated back and forth which tickets to get this year. We had the 10 day MYW last year but without the extras. We plan on doing a few evenings only in the parks and some short days too so I think we'll get to about 11 or 12 park days but mostly shorter ones if that makes sense. I see where you're coming from too though and it will be so nice to go back and use those remaining days again. Pity the ultimate tickets expire! I guess they'd be so much more expensive then if they didn't. The multitude of Disney decisions is enough to drive me mad.

Asfar as the 14 days rule is concerned I can confirm that if you use it on Sun 17th ( I'm using our itinery) then it finishes on Sat 30th,we always buy Flex passes & they work the same way. As far as the Ultimate passes are concerned ,it's not that Americans can't use them they just are not available for sale across there.,just like if we want MYW tickets with no-expiry then we have to buy them from the US. personally I prefered the old style Hopper I fgeel the Ultimate tickets are a gimmick :Once your trip is over,no extra days to carry for your next trip. Disney hope that whilst you've got 14 days that your mindset is "I must get my money's worth" thereby spending more $ in the parks. And that on your next trip you will buy another one, whereas if you had had some days left you wouldn't have spent as much!

I may be wrong but I'm sure that I read somewhere that the 14 day ticket expires 21 days after your first use it.

There are two different tickets available for UK guests only - 14 day and 21 day! ;)

Both are only available for the appropriate number of days consecutively after the first days use. :teeth:

That's right, the 14 day ticket expires after 14 days. The 21 day ticket isn't *that* much more expensive but it's enough of a difference for me not to bother buying it just for one day's use. We'll just have to swim, shop and eat on our first day - what a tragedy. :lmao:

Thank you for the information. It is nice to know the ins and outs of the workings of Disney. We like to get our moneys worth when going down. I hate the idea like you DebIreland that I have to work our day around Disney and not the other way around.

We used a 7 day premium ticket bought in the uk and upgraded it to non expiry at the disney ticket centre.I think you can still do it with the premium but not the ultimate.

Correct! :thumbsup2 We did exactly the same when we were there recently (got back on Friday). Attraction Tickets Direct are offering a 7-day Premium Ticket with 6 'extras' for the price of a 5-day one at the mo. It's only £162, as opposed to their 14-day Ultimate Ticket which is £173. The advantage of the Premium Ticket being that you can 'upgrade' it while you're there to be non-expiry - and use any remaining days/extras for the next trip!
