When does your school let out for Thanksgiving break?

I would like some insight on Thanksgiving Break for your local schools. Please tell me when does school let out and how long is the break. My kids get the whole week off.

DD is in private school and they have the entire week of Thanksgiving off.

My DS5's school is off Wednesday the 24th - Friday the 26th, and of course the weekend.

We are in public school about 25 minutes outside of Buffalo and we have off the whole week of Thanksgiving too. However most of our neighboring schools are only off Wednesday 11/24- Friday 11/26 (w/ the weekend too of course).

Here in SouthWestern PA we get Thursday-Monday off, going back on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. Wednesday is an early dismissal day.

My DGDs get off only Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after.

In Louisiana we get the whole week of Thanksgiving off. PLENTY of people from this area go to WDW during Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Day, Friday, and the following Monday for 'Deer Day'.

It's the first day of hunting season, and so many kids skip that day, they just made it a scheduled day off. Helped me in deciding when to plan our trip to Disney.

We have a half day on Wednesday, then off Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

My son has a 1/2 day on Wednesday, off Thursday and Friday. Back to school on Monday.

The public schools in my area go until noontime on the day before Thanksgiving.

We are leaving on the 20th so they will miss 2 days of school.

I was amazed when I moved here and found out they have the Monday off for hunting season! No kids I know hunt, but we did go to DW one year after Thanksgiving and took advantage of that extra day.

Ahhh, so they have a "Deer Day' in PA also? I thought it was just a Knox County Ohio thing. there's a lot of hunters in Knox County...it's very rural.
