When does your AP start?

I want to buy our family's annual passes this month while the extra three month promotion is going on. We are headed down to Orlando for spring break, but plan on doing Sea World and Aquatica for this trip. I was wondering if we went to Citywalk for dinner one night, could we get our AP cards at the ticket office but not use them until our summer trip? I thought it would just be one less thing to worry about on our arrival day in June. I didn't know if our 15 months would start in April if we did this. I would appreciate any info you have on this subject. Thanks!

When I called he pass holder line today, I was told that they are not activated until you enter the parks. I purchased 3, but one might activate on a different trip and I was told that was fine. I will pick them all up together and only activate the two who would be present if we get to add an extra trip this year.

They will activate it upon picking the actual pass up when you visit the park.
