when does waitlist update?

Hi all - I have 2 waitlists going for trips. I was wondering - when does the waitlist update - is it just once a day or can it be anytime. In other words, if I check my vacation details online early in the day, is there any point in checking at night or does it just update once per day? Anyone have any ideas?

Just got a letter today saying our waitlist cleared for next week.

Being one of the busiest weeks of the year... I didn't have ANY hope. The letter was dated 3/19... but mailed 3/25. I had been meaning to check it... but never found the time.
