When does the X-Mas decor appear?

I was wondering if anyone knows when the Christmas decorations in WDW are displayed. Someone told me that at the resorts, the lobby is decorated at night when everyone is asleep. Is this true? and what date do they begin to appear?

We were at BCV the 2nd week in November last year, and were surprised to see that many of the decorations were alreday in place. The tree was up, lights strung. BW was also decorated, although I don't think YC was. GF was starting to put up the gingerbread house that week.

I don't think the parks had anything up yet, though.

It could vary, but it usually starts around Thanksgiving week. I think the resorts are decorated first. And yes, the resorts are decorated at night. One year at WL, we went to bed and by morning the tree was up in the lobby! I think everything is up by the last days of November.

Some of the more ornate decorations such as the carved chocolate display in the BW lobby, the train in the BC lobby, and the gingerbread house at the GF take a couple weeks from start to finish.

Generally the beginning of Thanksgiving week you'll start to see some lobby decorations going up. By Thanksgiving Day the majority of the decorations are up, minus the ones I previously mentioned. On Thanksgiving Day the parks are partially decorated, by the end of teh weekend they're pretty much done.

This year the decorations were still up through the second week of January, but that was unusual, they usually come down right after the first week.

We were there at the end of Food and Wine festival. One day Food and Wine festival - next day Christmas decorations were up in Epcot, like magic. The GF already had the decorations up, including the huge tree and gingerbread house. MGM had all decorations up and Minnie Mouse was in a santa cosutme. I would say 2nd week of November, since most decorations were up by the time we arrived.

Although Osbourn Family Christmas lights were up there were not on yet! I think the decorations go up way before the festivities.

Last year, resort decorations were up at BW when we checked in 11/12. Noticed through the stay (11/16) that staff worked on a couple of things but I thought decorations were pretty much done 11/12. Loved their docorations!

Prior year, we were at WL 11/9-15. Decorations appeared at the lodge overnight probably by the 13ths.

Didn't see anything going up at the parks then except for MGM backlot tour.

We were there from 11/11 thru 11/18. We stayed at AKL. Decorations were not up at AKL that week. We visited WL mid-week and saw no decorations there either. But, we did see decorations at Boardwalk, GF, and the Poly. They were working on the gingerbread house that week but everything else seemed to be in place.

We go every year in November and as I recall, its around the 2nd week. Usually from Veterans Day on. Each day you will see more and more. It's a beautiful thing....
