Starting to look for tickets for our May trip, and noticed that SW is still showing 'Early Bird' check-in??? I thought the Assigned Seats were starting in early-2025??? If they are assigned seats, I doubt I would pay for the Early-Bird, but want to make sure......any update??

Assigned seats are going to be sold in late '25 for travel beginning in early '26. That was the last update I saw released during SW investor day.

Ok that makes sense then. I thought it was STARTING in 2025.

Can't start in '25, they have to remodel the planes first.

Why remodel? Are they going to a class model for seating? They already have row numbers and seat letters.

Because they're going to add seats with extra leg room.

Ah. That'll make Early Bird popular for a while until they get all the planes changed (though knowing Southwest I could see them choosing last-minute to ground them all to electively do it at once). Hopefully the no seat saving will actually be enforced until the assigned seating goes into effect.
