When Does School Begin????

Just wondering when everyone's kids are back in school...thinking of going the last full week in August (before Labor Day Weekend).

My kids start August 25th.

I am in north central Alabama and we start back on August 13th which apparently a little later than most schools around us.

Our kids go back Aug. 7.

In NJ, most of the schools start after Labor Day. I've heard the last week in August is fairly quiet, as most of the Southern schools start back in early to mid August.

North of Orlando we start August 4th.

In the midwest, we start Aug. 18th. I know that on the east coast they don't go back until the 2nd week in September. The week after Labor Day is supposed to be one of the quietest weeks at WDW. And they say it gets cooler.

In CT some go back the end of August and some go back the Wed. after Labor Day.

Teachers go back the 5th and the students start on the 11th of August.

I thought I posted the poll over here because I was using it to plan a trip and wondered when everyone's children started back in school. I think they moved it to the community board. Oh well.

At last count there were like 112 votes. I can't believe only 112 people have kids in school. Maybe it didn't get many votes because they moved it to the other board.

Our school system is on the "year round school" schedule. Kids go back July 31st. But we get 2 weeks off after each 9 weeks, so we have a break in early October which is when we are going. I was hoping when they adopted this new schedule it would mean we would have lower crowds at WDW but it seems like it is becoming a busier time than it used to be. At least maybe the heat will not be as bad though.

Ha Ha I go back in October - I finished on June 20th

TODAY!!!! Really our first day of school was today (7/7). We are year round, our last day of school was 6/27. Our "traditional" track starts on August 18th.


By the way I got to be the person asking why the child was not in school today. "I didn't know she/he was on that track" to "Well they are out of state and won't be back until next week". Boy was it fun.

I start school August 11th. I hate high school so far. Too much work and I'm so darn lazy!
