When Does Pricing Typically Go Up?

I am eyeing a cruise on the Disney Fantasy in December 2017, but am not yet ready to book. Is there a ballpark amount of time before a cruise that prices might start to rise? I am sure it varies. I don't want to wait too long to book and end up paying more!

There's no telling when prices may rise, if they do. It's based on how full the ship is at any given point. If the ship is filling faster than DCL plans, then the prices go up.

If a cruise isn't selling as well as DCL wants it to, then they will offer special fares to fill the space, until they reach that "magic" number that should be sold at that point, then withdraw the special fares.

Some cruises have their prices rise astronomically, within hours of being offered. Others take months.

Chances are, if the cruise you are looking at falls within that period that DCL typically does the Very MerryTime cruises, the prices will rise.

As princessshmoo said there is no way to tell in cruising. If you have the deposit amount I would say book now (as long as you aren't booking concierge). If the price goes down you can usually get the discount applied or switch to the cheaper room but if the price goes up and you haven't booked then you are out of luck. Deposits are refundable for a pretty long time so I would say it is best to lock down the prices ASAP if you know you want to travel on DCL. You can always move the deposit to another cruise if you change your mind from that sailing.
