When does mousekeepnig clean?

Just curious when mousekeeping cleans the rooms (we will be at AKL). There may be a day or two that we have as an off day and we could be in the room most of the day. I don't want it to be an awkward situation. Also, what should we expect to be done? Do we get clean sheets, etc. (As you can tell, I have never stayed at any one hotel more than one night).

In June of 2000 we stayed at POR and requested our room be cleaned in the morning. When we came back in the afternoon for a rest it was always cleaned.

I called housekeeping and asked if this could be done everyday at this time. And it was.

Unless requested, I believe they only change the sheets every 3 or 4 days. You put dirty towels in the tub for them to pick up. They can come anytime during the day, I've had them knocking at the door at 8:30am or not there by 4:00pm. As Ms. A said, you can call and ask them to come around a certain time.

When we leave the room for the morning, I usually call Housekeeping and let them know we are vacating the room until X time. It usually works.

If you know you will be in the room and don't want them coming in, you can put the Do not disturb sign on the door. They still may knock just to check.

My family just returned from a mid-July stay at AKL. Our room was always "done" when we took our mid-day break about 1:00pm. The day we checked out I was still in the room at 11:00 am waiting for bell service when the house keeping staff member knocked on the door to see if it was okay to come in. Like Buzzlady said, the "Do Not Disturb" sign ought to keep them out.

We just returned from 4 nights at AKL. The answer to when does mousekeeping clean the room is any time they want to. On Friday they didn't get around to our room until after 5 PM. We tried the make up this room sign on Saturday and someone removed it so we still didn't get our room cleaned until we called at 2:30 when we got back from the parks. Finally on sunday we called and said we'd be out until 1 PM could the mousekeepers come while we were out. They did.

There is no set time for mousekeeping. Sheets are not changed on a daily basis. Mine were not changed the whole week I was there. Make sure you have a do not disturb sign. We didn't get one until half way into our trip. We also had a pillow mysteriously disappear

Hummpp, I'll agree, anytime they want/can!

When we stayed at CR, most of the time they didn't clean till close to 5pm It was real annoying to come back for a mid-day break abt 2 to a dirty room. We didn't even have enough clean towels to shower. We tried asking them, they just gave us the "run around".

I was really, really disapointed. I expected much more for the $600 per night we paid.
