When does Disney release Free Dining dates...so people will release coveted adrs??

We're doing a couples only trip on almost the same dates... 10/14 - 10/20! We're doing a split stay so I was only able to book 10/14 - 10/17, and will do the 2nd leg this Thursday. We did BOG for dinner on our last trip, which was spring break '16, and had no problem getting it. I figured it was the parties that was causing the issue. I've given up on that one for this trip, since we already did it once. But I was surprised how hard it was to get 'Ohana for dinner. Really??

I don't think it has anything to do with FD, and everything to do with people holding multiple reservations until they firm up their plans. May also have to do with lack of availability during party nights too.

We had no problem getting breakfasts at 180 days...in fact, even yesterday, I could find multiple breakfast times for late September/early October, but nothing for lunches or dinner the entire week we are there.

I read those threads for trying to coordinate ADR drops, and I've seen more than one poster releasing a BOG reservation for everyday they're on vacation, and sometimes more than one meal, or one time per day.

You have lots of time before you have to go, I don't think you need to worry about too much.

There is absolutely something going on with BOG. I am wondering if somehow another dining "agent" or whatever it was that was selling ADR's is at work like the ones that were stopped a while ago. I had extremely limited times to choose from making an ADR for dinner on 10/25 at 6 AM this morning and nothing available for 10/18. BOG has not been this difficult to get since those illegitimate sites were shut down. Something is up.

I'm not sure why that rumor started. I'd expect the "free dining" announcement to cause more people to book reservations, not release them.

People absolutely hoard ADRs and even room reservations in anticipation of FD.
