When does dining plan start and end?

If we arrive at our Disney Resort late in the afternoon and check in, when does the dining plan begin? Does it start the next full day or can we have our first dinner after we arrive that night with paying for a full day? And, do we get to use it the morning we check out without paying for a full day?

Also, if we have a meal that requires (2) table service meals per person how is that charged to me when I check in? I'm just confused!!

It starts the day you check in through midnight on the day you check out.

If you check in at 8am and get your keys, the dining plan will be in place and you're welcome to spend credits off it from then on. You can check out at 8am on the morning of you last day but still use your credits until midnight that night. Your credits are tied to the number of nights you stay - not days.

Your meal reservations have nothing to do with checking into the hotel. When you dine at a 2 credit restaurant, they just take 2 credits off your card when you pay the bill.
