When does codes come out?

We want to book for the Christmas holidays, but where do the codes come out, or where can I book to save $, we want the dinning package also.

Any tips?

If you are going over Christmas I would NOT wait on a code to book. Book what you can afford and if a code comes out change.

The week between Christmas and New Years is the BUSIEST at Disney and if you wait you may well be locked out of what you want. Also, in the past the ONLY way to get a code for that week was to check in before Christmas..

Yes, definitely book something. Also, you said the Christmas holidays so i am not sure if you are referring to Christmas week specifically or not. Disney World has all the Christmas festivities going on during the first few weeks of December as well which will save you money too if you are ok not going for Christmas week specifically.
