When does Cars Land open and when will DCL be in Cali?

Anyone know the projected date of Cars Land opening. Also does anyone think that DCL will do 3 and 4 day cruises out of Cali? We just got back from DCL and DW and we both agreed that a trip like that would be awesome out of California.

Cars Land is supposed to open in 2012. Disney Cruise Line announced in March that it will be homeporting the Wonder in Los Angeles starting in 2011, though I haven't seen anything on possible itineraries yet. They did 7-day Mexican Riviera cruises the two summers that the Magic was here - but I agree with you that offering three or four-day cruises would be a good idea when they are here more permanently.

Does anyone think that they will offer Land and Sea cruises like they do out of Orlando? I think it would be great to take a 4 day cruise, followed up with 3 days in the parks. That would be a great package.

Neither Walt Disney Parks and Resorts nor the Disney Cruise Line have announced any plans for a Land and Sea Package combining a Disney Cruise Line cruise and a stay at the Disneyland Resort at this time.

However, this does not preclude the possibility of such a plan being announced in the future.

...and I wish they could get an island out west too...going to Castaway Cay is the main reason I guess we will depart from Florida when we decide to do a cruise.

Disney would be absolute idiots if they did NOT offer Land and Sea Packages with stays at Disneyland. In fact I would bet the bank it happens. You know how Disney is about capturing the complete guest dollar! That's why they have Magical Express bus transfers in Florida, and then Cruise Line buses to take you straight from Hotel to Ship.

If I was a betting woman, I would figure they'll outsource the buses to Gray Line (since they have a partnership with them now) and make tranfers a part of the package.
