When does AP start?

When you purchase an AP when does it start? For example - if you buy an annual pass on 10-30-04 is it good until 10-30-05? Or does the clock start ticking when you first use it...? TIA for your response!

The clock starts ticking with the first use of the AP. Keep in mind that when you get an AP voucher at DL, there's a date that you have to activate it by. not sure what happens if you don't..... That sate, I believe, is 60 days after the purchase.

and from all accounts APs will be going up a good 50 bucks in the next week or so- As it looks all but the So Cal Select one will be effected (so a PAP is now 329)

Thanks so much for the replies. Now how do you activate it? Do you have to be there in person - or can you activate it by phone? I don't need it till 1-3-05, but if prices are going up I should buy it now. 60 days would fall in December so I won't physically be there at DL to activate it.... Please let me know how this work - thanks for being so helpful!!

Once you get the voucher to activate you have to enter the park and head back to the booth and get your real AP

You have to be there to activate it. They will need to take your photo.

From my understanding. IF you do not activate it within the time frame specified. The voucher is still good for the value you paid for it. You woudl then have to pay the price difference between what you paid and what the cost is currently.

I just purchased a voucher yesterday at the Disney Store. Reading from the back of the ticket, it says:
Annual Pass Certificate--Deluxe $179.00
Must be exchanged on first visit for photo pass
Photo i.d. required for entry and processing
Must be used within 3 months of purchase

It actually looks just like the single day ticket I bought in August, only it say Annual Pass on the back instead of 1 day Hopper. HTH.

What you'll do next is use that ticket for your first admission into DL. You'll then take that and go to the AP processing center to have your picture taken and you'll receive you're real AP.
