When do your school aged children start Christmas break this year?

Somebody's on A Track! Another Colorado year rounder here (C Track for us). Our last day of school is 12/15. When I saw that on the calendar I had a Christmas Disney trip booked so fast my head spun!

Another DISer from Colorado. You must also be from Douglas county! We had to switch from C Track to A couple of years ago. We like both tracks. We love the year-round schedule. We love having Sept and Dec off to go to WDW. Great months, low season prices and no crowds.

Wow, 12/22 is really late in my opinion. I really appreciate that our kids get out to celebrate Christmas for 2 full weeks plus a couple of days give or take when New Year's Day falls - this year we're out on 12/15 (which is a half day) and don't go back until 1/2. No Disney this year but last year that week before Christmas was pretty empty - the closer it got to Christmas the more crowded it got.

Starts 12/22 & we go back on 1/2. We always get short Christmas breaks & Easter too (less than a week). I just pull mine out for a 9 day WDW vacation in early May every year.

The last day for my kids is the 15th and they go back on Jan. 2nd.

Last day is Dec 22 and back Jan 2. Guess we have the shortest you can have - no half days even! We moved to Green Bay this summer from Michigan, and there my kids always had 2 weeks for Christmas, plus the week in Feb, plus more than a week for Easter, plus all the Jewish holidays (which some years were 4 days within the first month or two of school). Here the kids get just over a week for Christmas, a week in March, and that's it. Needless to say they have a much longer summer break here! (3 full months)

Our school is dismissing at 11:00 a.m. on the 19th but my children will be done on the 15th. We will be in Orlando on the 16th!

I was suprised to see some children in other parts of the country start Christmas break 12/15. That seems so early to me! Here in MA my kids go to school on 12/22 and then start Christmas break. They are only off the week between Christmas and NY and return to school 1/2.

Can you share with me when your school aged kids are off this year? We are going to Disney 12/15-22 (yes my kids will miss 6 days but I know they don't do much that last week)and I wonder how many kids are off that week.

We generally take our DD out of school for vacations. This year she will miss 6 days as well because we are going to WDW from 12/1-12/9. Her christmas break also begins on 12/22.

No, we are in Cherry Creek District actually. And A is the best for WDW visits. Just today my dh and I said too bad we aren't on A since we could go during Free Dining!

Our kids go to school on 12-22-06 and then are off until 1-2-06. Well, at least our school does. We are leaving for Disney on 12-19-06 so my kids will be out a little early.

We start the 15th at our private school but the public in the area start the 21. What do you guys think the crowds will be like the 15-22? I am toying with pushing back our Thansgiving 2007 to Dec. I think it would be something like the 16-23.
