We will be at WDW for New Year's 12/27-1/3. DD goes back to school 1/4.

January 4th. Our district's 2016 - 2017 calendar is a huge departure from every year up until this point, but the January return date remained pretty standard.

We don't have the NYC schedule yet. My guess would be 1/3 since I'm figuring 1/2 will be the federal observance of New Year's... but I don't know for sure.

January 3rd. The 2nd will be the federal holiday.... Are any schools ever in session on federal holidays? (Not being snarky, I honestly don't know)

i have no idea. kiddo attends 2 separate schools and neither has released the info yet.

It will be DD's first year in college, and we don't know where she is attending yet, so we have no idea!!

The public schools where we live are starting back on 1/3.

I too am surprised that students are returning on Jan. 2 as that is the federally recognized holiday. I'm hoping more people are going back earlier in the week rather than later as we don't go back until the 9th and are considering going to disney that week.
