When do your kids get off for Christmas Vacation

My DBro was shocked my DD's school doesn't get out until their half-day on 12/23 - I think my niece gets out tomorrow.

They all go back Jan. 4th.

agnes!

Our district was on strike for 3 weeks so we only have off 12/24 & 25 and the next week just 12/31 & 1/1. They'll be in school every day other than that!

Last day at school is tomorrow 12/18 and then they are off for 2 full weeks, going back on Jan 4th.

My kids vacation starts on Christmas Eve.

Usually they at least get one day prior off. I remember always having a full 2 weeks off, but we didn't have all the other random days and Feb break.

Mine get out tomorrow however my son is done with all his so he got out yesterday and today is my dd last day I think :confused3

Mine are teens so jr and sophomore so I don't have to keep that much track of it since they are good kids ..

My stepsons last day is tomorrow and then they will be here for a week :goodvibes

My kids last day is 12/23 and its a full day. They go back on the 4th. Last year they had over 2 weeks off, I'm not sure why they don't have as many days this year.

School is a 1/2 on Friday, and then we start back Jan. 11th. (Yes we are on an alternative schedule - we started school on July 25th. We had 2 weeks off in Oct., 3 weeks for Christmas, and 2 weeks for spring break, and the 7 weeks of summer break)

I wish my kids had this schedule! Is this a private or public school?

Mine get out at 11:15 on Friday, 12/18. They go back on Tuesday, 1/5.

I'm not really sure why they didn't go ahead and let them out yesterday. They're finished with all of their work. Today, they were watching movies until lunch (they could wear their pjs, take a blanket and a stuffed animal) and after lunch they were going to PARTY! Tomorrow, they can bring in board or video games to play for the half of day they're there.

I am fortunate enough to take off with them while they're on Christmas break, however, I understand for those who can't wanting theirs to be in school thru 12/23. I feel the same way about our start date every year. The earlier the better. I can't take off with them and I would rather not have to pay a sitter if I don't have to.

Their first day is the 22nd (we have to make up a snow day on the 21st) and they go back to school on the 4th.

This is a full working week for our school. (No "fluff" days!) We have a field trip on Monday, December 21, and December 22 is our last full day. Our students return on Wednesday, January 6. I can't wait for the break!!! :cool1:

Last day of school is December 22nd. They head back January 4th.

1/2 day on the 23rd, go back on 1/4.

That's standard here, we never get 2 weeks off. Been the same since I was a kid in school.

Last school day is Wednesday, December 23rd. They go back on Monday, January 4th.

Same here and we have an 8 hour drive after we get the kids from school-full day, not even a 1/2 day.

the 23rd?

Goodness, we start family Christmas parties on the 20th! We have one the 20th, one on the 23rd, two on the 24th, and two on the 25th. I don't know what we'd do if our schools went that close to Christmas!

Anyway, our schools get out Friday, the 18th. It's a full day, but they are having "Polar Express day" and wearing pj's to school, watching the movie, and doing other assorted fun-but-not-really-all-that-educational stuff.

Today is their class party. I'm not sure why they aren't doing that tomorrow. So really today and tomorrow are just "fluff" days.

We go back on the 5th. I wish it was the 7th, but I'm just glad it's not the 4th.

I hear you, see above :lmao:.

When the kids were little it always seemed like they would have 3 or 4 days off before Christmas and it made it really hard to get the last minute stuff done without little eyes watching, now I wish they got our earlier so we could leave earlier!!

I'm glad that I'm not in school anymore. Everybody's first day back after the break is January 4th, and that's my birthday!
