When do you think ROA will re-open?

So what are the guesses for when ROA and the Rail Road will re-open? I know it says "summer 2017" so we definitely want to plan our trip for after it opens....Any guesses?

My guess is that that by sayin "Summer of 2017" they want to have it open by summer season...but there is a lot of time between now and then for things to go right or wrong.

Even if Disney provided a date, I wouldn't count it as "definitely".

"Summer" at DL traditionally means Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day but like others have said, nothing is definite until Disney gives a firm opening date, and even then, maybe not! For example, I know tons of people made plans to visit Animal Kingdom at WDW this year to see the new "Rivers of Light" nighttime attraction that was supposed to open in late April, and to my knowledge it still hasn't opened!

As others have said, there is no clear answer at this point, but my guess is they're aiming for as close to the start of summer as possible, but they aren't going to give any firm dates until much closer to when they're actually ready. If you want the best chance at being there after they've reopened the ROA attractions, then I'd aim for as late into summer as possible (e.g., end of August instead of early June).

Mice Chat Rumor update today suggested late June for the river attractions with a 4th of July opening for Fantasmic!

We'll be there a few weeks before June ends, so if they're correct we'll probably miss Fantasmic! but get to ride the river and train.

I read this today, too. I am really, really, really hoping Fantasmic! opens earlier than 7/4/17!! That seems late for the beginning of summer.

I'm seriously crossing my fingers that Fantasmic unofficially (or officially) opens sooner than they suggest. I'll be there the week before 4th of July. Haven't seen the show since I was a kid. When it opened, I was 7. I would love to be able to see it again for my son's 7th birthday.

Well darn, had my fingers crossed for another Memorial kick off. Even if just for the train & ROA.

Id pefer to visit in late June. But I think I'll make reservations for a few different dates and then see when Disney makes the official announcement. My kids have missed the river and RR so thats part of our reason for the trip in the summer.

Really good advice. If they had a better idea of the open date, they wouldn't say "Summer 2017". That gives them quite a window of time.

That would be awesome! I love F! so much!

Who ever said "the beginning of summer"? I'm guessing the MC rumor is based on inside sources, but that would still be just an internal goal at this point. There are still things that can cause delays. Remember Big Thunder? It re-opened months after the initial projection, and that was just one attraction. I am just hoping for the end of August for ROA.

Remember when BTMRR closed in January for a fall re-opening that say year, and didn't end up opening until March of the following year? That was an 8-9 month refurb that lasted 14. Wha they're doing with ROA, TSI and RR is much more complicated. When they reopen, which might not necessarily be at the same time is when they'll reopen.

MiceChat said it would be late June with F! opening on July 4th. Man, I hope they're wrong. I think it would be lousy to go half the summer without one of the greatest nighttime shows. I guarantee there'll be a lot more people showing up late-July through August vs June.

I am just bummed about the rumor that the Peter Pan and Hook part is changing to Pirates of the Caribbean. I hope that is not true!

Me too. The Peter Pan scene is the BEST. I will be sad if it changes :(

It's totally the best!! My favorite part! I will be very sad.............and won't really get how POTC will fit into Mickey's dream........trying to stay positive and hope if it does change, it will be done well. ;)

Well, our APs expire 6/26, so that's our drop-dead date for ROA and the railroad. If they're not open before that, we'll miss them.

I am not sure. I did find this website that says "early-summer", but it is not a website I am aware of, so I don't think I found it there.

When I was searching for where I found the information, I found that Fantasmic's 25th anniversary is in May of 2017. With any luck, the show will be back in time to celebrate!

Thanks for the link! That actually sounds really cool to me (the projections and some of the changes). And that would be really amazing if they were able to get the show back up and running in time for the 25th anniversary!
