When do you stop changing your ADRs around?

It's less than 2 weeks before our trip and I thought I was done with all my ADRs, but over the weekend I got all these ideas...NOW I think I'm done. :woohoo: I wonder if I will keep changing it up until the day we leave for Disney World :confused3 ...Do you change it a lot? When are you satisfied with the changes? I am still uncertain about Hollywood and Vine, but I like the idea of a buffet to at least guarantee that we'll find SOMETHING we'll like. See below :)

I'm right there with ya. I do the same with my hotel reservations, too, up until the point where I would have to pay a change fee. I change my ADR's around right up until I leave.

Everything looks good to me except Crystal Palace. We had dinner there last summer and didn’t care for it. We will be returning to Liberty Tree when we are in MK. Good Luck, you stop changing your mind when you sit at your table…

When my sister made all of our ADR's I promised her that I wouldn't change any of them. So far, we have only changed Raglan Road for Le Ceiler.

I make my ADRs and then keep them. LOL! I don't think I've ever changed them after I made them.

My DH won't even discuss our ADRs with me this year because I changed them so many times last year. I kept on bugging him about them and he finally requested that we go to Narcoosees again this year but that was his only comment. My DD on the other hand likes to help me with the ADRs and will always give me her 6 year old opinion when asked. This will be our 4th visit and we have tried quite a few places so I'm hoping that this year I will be able to stay with the same ADRs.

Fernoppi I just wanted to say that Hollywood and Vine is one of the few places that we really disliked at Disney. At MGM we had good dinners at Mama Melrose and last year we tried 50s Prime Time, which is now my DDs favorite.

During my last trip? The day before I went home :teeth:

I had reservations for all my meals, but even as close as the day before a given meal I was able to change - for example, when I left for Disney, Tutto Italia was only taking walk-ups (they'd just opened on, I think, September 15). A week later, I was in Guest Relations at Epcot and they had a board showing available seatings. And there it was!

Going in September with free dining. Made res. about 2 weeks ago at 180 days, I tried to move our fantasmic res.yesterday because I heard AK was very cool at night and wanted to go during EMH. I decided to leave it alone when I only had the option of 3:30 on the night I wanted to move it to. So I am done now, I doubt there is availability at the good places. I'll visit AK at night next time.

:)

I book all my ADR's 180 days out and usually change 1 or 2 before my 2 months out and don't change again. I usually like all my ADR's except when 1is really getting bad reviews on the disboard over and over again and things have changed alot including the menu after I booked the ADR. Like in March when we went the menu had changed drastically at OHana's and I was really getting nervous about the whole dinner. We changed to CP and never looked back. The dinner at CP was fantastic and my whole family had a ball there and the food is awesome. The characters were so fun and my kids loved it.:yay:

I stopped messing with them about 2 weeks before we arrived but once we arrived at WDW we were cancelling and adding all kinds of stuff....I could not believe all the open times and restaurants that they had last minute. The big guns like Ohana, Le Cellier, Cali Grill etc were all booked but there was a ton of other options to choose from

I know I am bad but usually do not make reservations before I go and if I do, it is just a week before and then I do the rest when I am there. It is getting harder and harder to do that, but I hate planning.....I am just not that organized and prefer to go where I want to go on the day.

I do not want the vacation to own me, does that make sense, I want to go on vacation, no plans, no commitments.. just fun. It is not as easy to do that as it use to be so in March I did have a few reservations before I went.

So in answer to your question, I do not have to mess with them until I get there...

DH and I start planning our ADR's about 7 months out. We know what we like, where we like, and what new place we definitely have to try. Once we make them at the 180 day mark, it's rare we change.

I am pretty much the same way.

Plus I find with a family of 5, I really dont have much time to change things around unless I want to eat at 9 at night. Things book up fast!!

I used to change them all the time. Now that we have our favourites, I tend to book those and not change them. Sometimes I'll change the time but I try not to look at them until a few weeks before we leave.

By the way, I usually plan them way before 180 days in advance. I have an idea of where and when we'll be for each day, taking into account EMH, hours, weekends (we never go to MK on a weekend) and making sure that each park is spread out and not the same parks within 2-3 days. Then when the hours are shown on the Disney website, I look over any closures or rehabs, then I finalize everything before I call. So I'm hoping with all that, I try not to change things. Sometimes if I do, I will run into the chance that I will not be able to get a good time for the reservation and that's not what I want.

So, I have left my ADRs alone for my Aug trip and now concentrating on my trip next March.:) (At least this keeps me occupied, enough so that I'm not going over my Aug ADRs;) )

I'm just the opposite. If everything is not planned way, way, way in advance, I will not have a good vacation. Plus for me, I LOVE planning :cool1: (my husband always says I'm so obsessed with planning, I should do that for a living) so to plan the vacation is half the vacation (if that makes any sense).;)

My trip is in December and I started working on my ADRs before I even booked. First I changed my dates 3 times. In my notebook I have changed my adrs at least 50 times. My DH gets a kick out of this. My kids love talking about it. I cant actually make ADR's until June so I am hoping by then I will have them all figured out and not change them, but who knows.

I have completely changed a couple since I made the original ones and have called back a couple of times to see if I could move the times around a little (I took what they had but had hoped to get a different time - haven't had much luck though).

I usually try to book our trips far enough ahead of time that I have plenty of time before the 180 day mark to think about ADRs. I start making a list of the places we want to eat at, then when the 180 day mark comes along, if I get everything I want with the times I want, I'm done :cool1: Sometimes I might get an idea to try a different place after I've made all the ressies and may try to switch something, but usually I'm satisfied with what I originally pick :yay: There's restaurants that are a must do every trip; then there are others we've never been to that we want to try. So it's pretty easy for us to choose and stick with from the beginning :)
