When do you get the room upgrade?

So you call for a ressie and tell them your status, Loews First number etc and make your ressie for say a garden view. Do they tell you then that there is an upgraded room available? Or do they let you know at check-in if you can upgrade?

If you are booking a qualifying rate you can ask at the time of booking. You can also always ask at check-in. As you progress with the loews first program from blue to gold to platinum your upgrade options increase. As always though they are based on availability.

Thanks! Hoping to get a status comp to gold or platinum. So when making the ressie ask for upgrade. If there is no upgrade available then ask at check-in to see if anything is available?

Is AAA a qualifying rate? We are going in August of 2008 and I don't have AAA but was thinking it might be good to get for the discounts.

the upgrade is a pool view if you booked a garden view.
no other upgrades for blue loews card members

They upgraded me from Garden to Pool with my Loews card. I am a gold member, does that mean I can still try for the Suite upgrade when I get there even though I already got an upgrade?

if one is available you have to pay an additional $35 plus tax per night.
that is when you are gold.

for platinum, there is no additional charge.


phil wait a minute on my past response. if you booked a pool view and paid that rate, then you could upgrade if availability was there for the suite. and you would have to pay the additional $35 each night.


you are asking for a double upgrade. that could go either way, in your favor or against it. it would depend on the check in person you deal with. there are times that things slip by and they are lax at some of the hotels. so it could be possible for a double upgrade but i don't think it is likely.

to be sure, you should call loews direct and the hotel to find out in advance.
